Lifeforms in the Digital World are managed by a system that transfers their Digicores to the Dark Area when they die to be judged for reincarnation. However, Nosferamon is a unique Digimon that operates outside the boundaries of this system. When Nosferamon's life comes to an end, it transfers its memories and consciousness into the bat-shaped crest on its hat, and by engraving the crest onto another Digimon, it can transfer its soul to that Digimon. The data within the Digicore of the Digimon that Nosferamon has transferred to is gradually overwritten by the data from its soul, completing its takeover of their body. Digimon engraved with the bat crest will eventually evolve into Nosferamon, inheriting all of their experiences and knowledge. Extremely curious, it is conjectured that its inquisitive mind of wanting to understand all events in the world, and its obsession with knowledge led to it devising a way to circumvent the laws of the Digital World. Its long rifle, "Cereza", allows it to unleash its "Rampage Bullet", a continuous firing of homing bullets that are impossible to evade, and all of these homing bullets pierce the opponent's Digicore without it missing a single shot. Although the past memories and experiences of that Digimon are converted into data and spill out of their destroyed Digicore, Nosferamon is able to gain new knowledge by absorbing the data through its mouth. It will occasionally paralyze the target with its "Anesthesia Gaze", an invisible ray with anesthetic effects radiated from its left eye, and completely drain their data by directly biting them.
