Hackmon is Gankoomon's disciple in Digimon Knuckles. It was brainwashed and enslaved by Leviamon some time prior to the beginning of the manga.

Hackmon was Gankoomon's disciple, which he taught by example rather than explaining his actions, sowing a seed of distrust between them. Some time ago, when Leviamon appeared in front of Gankoomon and Kawashima Hajime after corrupting the latter, Hackmon told them that it could fight as well and they should run, and dashed in to attack its tail with Fifth Rush. Instead of retaliating however, Leviamon corrupted it and poisoned its mind, causing it to go mad with seeking power. During an unknown period, it evolved into a JESmon. Unlike other Digimon Leviamon brainwashed and enslaved, it was able to hide its darkened eyes for a while.

Hackmon's mind was poisoned by Leviamon.

JESmon appeared in Digimon Knuckles - Episode 3 where it was sent to the human world and abruptly attacked Gankoomon and Kawashima Haruka while they were discussing about the increasing amount of Digimon that appeared in the human world and the mastermind's motives. Gankoomon addresses it by its pre-evolution name, but it angrily tells Gankoomon not to refer to it by its old name as it now goes by the name "JESmon". They briefly clashed before moving out of the building towards a park to fight. Once there, he asked his disciple why are the Digimon coming to the real world and if he was the mastermind. JESmon does not directly answer, instead telling him that the Digimon will conquer the real world and will defeat humanity, and it will lead the charge as the new pillar of the Royal Knights. Gankoomon scolded him and told him that this is not what he taught him, and fought him trying to beat him back to his senses, but JESnon proves to be a powerful foe and got the upper hand before Gankoomon distracted him with Chabudai Gaeshi and went on top of his head, incapacitating him and asking him to surrender. JESmon does not give up easily however, and tells him that it must defeat its former mentor to prove that it is powerful with its darkened eyes exposed, indicating that it was brainwashed by the mastermind like all of the other Digimon that entered the human world. It then tries to ambush Gankoomon with the sword on its tail, only for Haruka to intervene in time with Arkhai Angemon's Holy Rod, which protects Gankoomon from the attack using its Brave Aura. Noticing the human, JESmon stops attacking Gankoomon to move towards Haruka by teleporting right next to him with Aus Generics, impaling the human by his clothes. It coldly refers to Haruka as a pitiful human being waving a keepsake from his father, and tells him that he should hate him for causing all of this and throws him towards Hinukamuy, then escapes and moves towards an absolutely massive Digimon that is now manifesting; Leviamon of the Seven Great Demon Lords, the mastermind who is now preparing to destroy the human world.

JESmon goes berserk to Leviamon's temptations .

Gankoomon and Haruka followed JESmon towards Leviamon riding atop of the Aero V-dramon they saved, hoping to stop the incident and send Leviamon back to the Digital World. Leviamon, noticing the duo, beseeches JESmon to attack Gankoomon and drives it berserk by telling it that it was weak for being unable to kill its master and deal with the human, so it must defeat Gankoomon prove that it is the strongest of the Knights. The berserk JESmon managed to overwhelm Gankoomon for a while this time before he knocked JESmon down temporarily by kicking it, creating an opening where Haruka throws Craniummon's Claíomh Solais towards it. Gankoomon uses End Waltz to finally defeat it and restore it back to sanity. Gankoomon embraces JESmon and apologizes to it while patting its head. JESmon tells him that it is now an Ultimate and Gankoomon is acting embarrassing, but it devolved back to its child form due to running out of energy to fight, so Gankoomon told it that it is still in its child form. Gankoomon then entrusted the injured Hackmon to Haruka as he goes to confront Leviamon and end things once and for all.

Following Leviamon's defeat, Hackmon spoke with Kawashima Haruka through webcam, telling him that it watched over the Demon Lord for some time before Examon took over operations. It continued its training with Gankoomon and promises to show Haruka its Ultimate form one day.
