This synthesis of species is said to have resulted from the pursuit of the ultimate state, or omnipotence, dramatically altering its appearance to match its surroundings. Because this form is composed of data taken from the Evil-species, the Evil-species data that lay dormant in its body has spread over its entire body, centered upon the crystal in its chest. The malevolence of the Evil-species has flooded its body and soul, and it regards all those it sees to be its prey and hunts down its enemies. The red electric shocks emanating from its body hide viruses, and it could be said that it is a special Digimon that generates viruses in spite of being a Digimon of the Vaccine attribute. The technique where it transmits viruses into the wounds of the enemy it has dealt damage to, undermining it from the inside, is completely menacing. Its special moves are "Triangler", wherein it chops up the enemy with its three scythes, "Plasmadness", wherein it gathers dark electric shocks on both of its hands and showers the foe with them, and "Death Dinner", wherein it mounts the opponent and instinctively preys upon it. Aegiochusmon: Dark is one of Aegiomon's evolved forms. It appears after Aegiomon falls into darkness and despair upon knowing its fate.

Aegiochusmon: Dark is one of Aegiomon's evolved forms. Aegiomon would dark evolve into this form on multiple occasions whenever Misono Inori gets sealed within a Space-time Rift (or dies). He would then travel back and forth in time trying to save her only to always fail and disrupt the timeline, and every time he does so he will leave a shadow clone of himself in the places where he appeared at. Eventually his actions slowly eroded the timeline and the situation forced Homeostasis's hand. As it prefers not to directly interfere, it instead created Agent Dan/Kanan out of one of his clones to help him break out of the loop. Every clone later fused with the original Aegiomon and Dan/Kanan to become Jupitermon.

Aegiochusmon: Dark is also an obtainable Digimon. It evolves from Aegiomon. Unlike other Aegiochusmon forms, it can only evolve into Chronomon: Destroy Mode and not Jupitermon (despite it evolving into Jupitermon: Wrath Mode in the game's story). In a similar vein, partner Aegiomon cannot evolve into Aegiochusmon: Dark in gameplay.
