⇨ Japanese A Digimon that evolved via data which studied the swimming styles of top swimmers. Although it has a merman-like appearance, it is capable of bipedal activities on land. Its swimming speed is top-class even among Aquatic Digimon, and its four eyes never lose sight of its underwater prey. Contrary to its ferocious appearance, it has a fair play spirit that pursues beautiful swimming.
Its Special Moves are slashing the enemy with the sharp fins all over its body (Fillet Blade), and hurling pressurized water like a blade (Ripple Edge). Its "Liquid Veil", which is invoked when Divemon is active on land, envelops it in water armor and enhances its physical ability. As a result, even in places without water, it is able to exhibit the same strength as when it is underwater.

Out of all hammerhead shark (Sphyrnidae) species, Divemon's head shape most closely resembles the winghead shark (Eusphyra blochii). Its bright cyan and white coloration is an example of countershading, a common method of camouflage used by animals, especially marine predators. The tattoos on its body closely resemble those traditional to Polynesian communities.
The stripes on its body may be derived from those seen in young tiger sharks, which are known for having stripes along their body that fade with age.
