Back Story[edit]
Some Digital Monster Card Game promotional material, such as the promotional spread pictured on right,[1] provides the following Back Story narrative for Booster 13. It gives the origin story of the ARMS in general, and ZERO-ARMS: Grani in particular.
⇨ Japanese By mimicking the ecology and evolution of Digimon, Digimon researchers developed the artificial digital life forms known as "ARMS (ARtificial MonsterS)." Development of the ARMS—which, although they lack consciousness, harbor formidable power just like Digimon—as humanity's first "digital living weapons" is underway. Amidst all of this, people see a certain "miracle" occur before their very eyes. ZERO-ARMS—the first of the living weapons, created by a Holy Knight Digimon responsible for protecting the Net, and a human—has begun to react. Guided by virtuous intent, these two digital lifeforms blaze through the sky like a prideful knight spurring his neighing steed forth, boldly confronting the hollow evil that casts a pall over the peace. And the power of the Tamer will guide them toward an unexpected evolution. |
