Digimon Adventure[edit]
Waru Monzaemon was a minion of the Dark Master Mugendramon appearing in the episode "Farewell Numemon" He was in charge of the enslaved Numemon to work under the city cruelly forcing them to power the city by manually turning turbines. Sora, Takaishi Takeru, Yagami Hikari and their Digimon discover this but are afraid to try to stop him because their Digimon were too weak to evolve at the time. Waru Monzaemon spots them and chases after them. While he is pursuing Sora and Takeru, Hikari awakens some of her hidden power and frees the Numemon from their chains. He attempts to hit them with a Bear Claw attack, but they dodge it and his paw gets stuck in the wall for a moment, giving Sora and Takeru a head start. Waru Monzaemon then rolls up into a ball and tries to crush them. Sora's Piyomon and Takeru's Patamon seemingly gain the ability to fly faster from Hikari's light, allowing them to out run Waru Monzaemon. They end up back where the Numemon were. Waru Monzaemon was enraged to see the Numemon freed and demanded to know who released them, Hikari boldly said she had. Waru Monzaemon moved to attack her, but the Numemon jumped him. In spite of their spirit, they weren't able to do much more than irritate him. Hikari began to flow more at seeing the Numemon defeated, giving Piyomon, Patamon, and her own Tailmon in the energy to evolve into Birdramon, Angemon, and Angewomon. As the three attacked simultaneously with Meteor Wing, Heaven's Knuckle, and Holy Arrow, Waru Monzaemon retreated into the next door and slammed the doors shut in an attempt to block the attacks, but they shattered the door, blasting Waru Monzaemon away. Waru Monzaemon reported to Mugendramon via a video link, but when Mugendramon found out about his failure, he executed Waru Monzeamon by self-destructing the room.

Digimon Ghost Game[edit]
Ex-Tyranomon and Waru Monzaemon emerged from Aramaki Kayono's closet in "Bad Friend". They manipulated her by making her think they were her friends, so she'd allow them to turn humans into dolls through Ex-Tyranomon's Dark Matter, including Kayono's father, teacher and Udagawa Aoi, who wanted to check on her. They then made her leave home to turn even more humans into dolls, now not even those that Kayono thought had hurt her, which included Higashimitarai Kiyoshiro who bumped into her, alongside Jellymon.
Following Monzaemon, Amanokawa Hiro and Tsukiyono Ruli confronted the duo, who stopped acting as they were brought into a pseudo-Digital World without Kayono and revealed they didn't care at all about her, she was just a convenient human to allow them to do as they pleased. Monzaemon, who had entered the pseudo-Digital World, then used his Pretty Attack on them, stopping them and making them switch sides, after which they asked for forgiveness and undid the doll transformations.

Waru Monzaemon appeared in Episode 57, "The Diabolical Waru Monzaemon". He was a minion of Mugendramon who enslaved a group of Numemon in the Underground Passage, using them as the power source for the Urban Area of Spiral Mountain. Takaishi Takeru at first thought he was Monzaemon, but he was quickly corrected by Patamon. Yagami Hikari felt pity for the Numemon, then glowed and fainted. The Numemon stopped working, distracted by this, which led Waru Monzaemon to find the Chosen Children, who then ran away. Waru Monzaemon pursued Takeru and Takenouchi Sora.
After Hikari and Tailmon freed the Numemon, Waru Monzaemon found himself in the chamber with them again, as well as the people he was pursuing. Waru Monzaemon angrily asked who had set free the Numemon, and Hikari defiantly answered it was her. The Numemon then swarmed Waru Monzaemon, but he easily swatted them away. Hikari started glowing again, with the Partner Digimon all feeling power overflowing from her, power they'd use to fight Waru Monzaemon.
Waru Monzaemon is the 67th obligatory boss of the game, fighting Tailmon, Piyomon and Patamon at the end of Episode 57, "The Diabolical Waru Monzaemon". He can deal damage to one Digimon with Bear Claw; deal multiple hits, Break, lower attack and defense to all the party with Heartbreak Attack; or deal multiple hits to one Digimon with Megalo Spark. After being defeated, he drops a Skill Guard Ω DigiPiece, which makes the user immune to Skill Seal.
Digimon World Re:Digitize Decode[edit]
Waru Monzaemon is the former owner of the Night Canyon, before Were Garurumon and Taiga. After Taiga inherited it, Waru Monzaemon's four Were Garurumon (Black) lackeys attacked him, only for all of them to be defeated and drop their Evil Heart Fragments. Using those four items in a conglomeration of black smoke close to the Memorial Stella, Taiga caused Waru Monzaemon to appear. Waru Monzaemon asked Taiga if he was the one who woke him up. When asked who he was, he said he was Waru Monzaemon, evil incarnate, while Taiga reeked of righteousness despite holding the Evil Heart Fragments. Since he hated righteousness, he decided to destroy Taiga and Digimaru. After being defeated, he wondered if they were going to be destroyed by justice, which he refused to accept. He damned Taiga and promised to hunt him down at all times, then ran away, leaving a Metal Banana behind.
Following the advice of a Were Garurumon (Black) in the Village of Beginnings, Taiga can find Waru Monzaemon again in a random location. Waru Monzaemon instantly attacks Taiga upon seeing him, as he's justice and Waru Monzaemon wants to destroy all justice. After being defeated, he tells Taiga he'll come back and soak him in evil someday, then runs away, leaving an item behind.
