Daimon Masaru is one of the protagonists of Digimon Savers.
Profile[edit]
A junior high student who prefers to fight over a 3rd serving of rice. When he meets ones who looks strong, he can't help but challenge them to a fight. After he met and fought against an Agumon one day, they find mutual understanding and become Partners. Because of his latent powers which allowed Agumon to evolve, he joins DATS in search of stronger opponents. Even though Masaru is the son of the No.1 authority on Digimon research, Professor Daimon Suguru, he is completely hopeless with computers and machines, and he usually ends up breaking or destroying them.
5 years later, after the fight with Yggdrasill, Masaru leaves with the Digimon, who are called back to the Digital World so that it can be repaired. Once there, he and Agumon explore the Digital World while keeping the peace, picking up where Masaru's father, Suguru, left off.

Appearances[edit]
Anime[edit]
Digimon Savers[edit]
Masaru is the main character of Digimon Savers and was a former member of DATS. He is a strong-willed fighter who is partnered up with Agumon. He possesses the power of the Digisoul and he is able to knock out powerful Digimon with just one punch with his bare fist.
Digimon Savers The Movie: Ultimate Power! Activate Burst Mode!![edit]
Masaru was initially held captive by Algomon's vines, in a state of sleep. However, through the power of Agumon's hope and his own burning awesome manliness, he awoke from his prison in order to Falcon Punch Algomon and help Agumon evolve.
Digimon Xros Wars: The Young Hunters Who Leapt Through Time[edit]
Masaru and Agumon are seen at the end of the episode 68. Later in episode 76 Masaru and Shine Greymon arrive to assist Arresterdramon. In episode 78 the pair return once again to fight Quartzmon.
Manga[edit]
Digimon Xros Wars[edit]
As shown in Bagramon's flashback in "Xros Miracle!! Reel in a Sliver of Hope!", the AI that controlled Yggdrasill brought its logical thinking to an extreme and saw the Real World as a threat to be destroyed. It was then destroyed itself by Masaru and Shine Greymon, and Homeostasis was created based on that incident as a calm, protective god.
During "BONUS TRACK", Wizarmon saw other universes. In one of them, he saw Masaru punching an Asuramon while Agumon watched.

Digimon Story[edit]
Masaru appears along with his partner and other DATS agents in several side quests throughout the game where the player must assist them.
One of these is an Onegai Quest given by a Digimon in the Player's DigiFarm after Thoma H. Norstein's autograph's Onegai Quest. Said Digimon befriended Masaru, but he forgot his Digivice iC with them, and thus they task the Player to return it to him. The Player then finds Masaru and Agumon at Digi-Central, the former realizing he had lost his Digivice. Masaru points out he won't get lectured by Thoma now, which leads the Player to ask him if he knows Thoma. After the Player gives Masaru their name, Masaru and Agumon leave to meet with Thoma, which, combined with Gaomon's investigation, leaves the Player wondering what they were looking for.
In a later Onegai Quest, in Steamy Jungle, after King Etemon threatens to get rid of the Player, Masaru and Agumon appear, both of them having been in pursue of King Etemon for a while. Masaru has Agumon evolve into Geo Greymon, but his attacks are too weak to affect King Etemon. Thoma and Fujieda Yoshino then arrive, alongside their Perfect-level Partner Digimon, Mach Gaogamon and Lilamon, cornering King Etemon. King Etemon says he'll evolve and beat them all, but no one buys his bluff and then he asks if they won't let him go, before finally surrendering.
After that, Thoma calls Masaru out for not waiting for the other two as he had ordered him to, but Masaru responds that the Player was in danger. Yoshino stops their fight, remarking that the important thing was that everyone was safe, though she then scolds Masaru for running head-first into a dangerous situation. The Player then asks the trio who they are, and Masaru responds they're members of DATS. Thoma scolds him since that's meant to be a secret, but Masaru points out the Player already knows about Digimon so there's no point in keeping the secret. Yoshino agrees with Masaru but remarks that they must abide by the rules, so she asks the Player not to tell others about them, which the Player agrees with. The trio then leaves.
A later Onegai Quest has the Player go to Chrome Mine in search of ghosts. There, they meet Masaru and Agumon again, who are themselves investigating the ghosts. The group all decide to go further in but separate. Later, the Player finds the ghost, a Bakemon, who tries to run away but is cornered by Masaru and Agumon, the former blaming the Bakemon for being the one that was scaring people away. Bakemon apologises and explains they didn't mean no harm, it was just fun to watch people get scared. Masaru lets Bakemon go but warns them not to try that again.
After the Bakemon leaves, the Player asks Masaru if he wasn't supposed to capture the ghost, but Masaru explains their job isn't to bully the weak, but to protect everyone from the bad, which gets the respect of both Agumon and the Player. Masaru thanks the Player for their help and they go back home.

Digimon Adventure[edit]
Masaru and Agumon are mentioned by Kanbara Takuya, though not by name, in Episode 70, "Dragon Warrior, Kaiser Greymon", where he said a human with an Agumon had attacked him before meeting Yagami Taichi and his Agumon.
Masaru and Agumon make their first proper appearance in Episode 71, "Light Dragon! Shine Greymon", where they called Taichi and Agumon's attention. Savers Agumon was surprised by the existence of another Agumon who looked just like him. Taichi was just as surprised, while Masaru thought Taichi's Agumon was a fake one, making Savers Agumon think they were the true identity of the black shadow. For Hackmon, they were just saying weird stuff. Masaru challenged Taichi to a fair fistfight, as did his Agumon to Taichi's, then evolved into Shine Greymon to fight him.
After the fight, Taichi tried to stop them, which annoyed Masaru as it was a fight between men. Taichi and Hackmon explained they were trapped in the Digital Dungeon by the black shadow. Masaru and Agumon realized they were in the same boat and accepted their mistake. Hackmon realized there were humans who liked fighting too. Taichi introduced himself and Hackmon, as did Masaru as the number one street fighter in Japan. Hackmon was curious about his title and Taichi tried to explain it. Hackmon was happy Masaru seemed as enthusiastic as he was about training. Taichi and Masaru decided to go together, with the latter itching for a fight, but they left before the rest could catch up. Hackmon thought they seemed to have a lot of fun with their training.
Masaru and Shine Greymon then join the party as guests. Shine Greymon can't be controlled, has 9999 HP and infinite SP. He can deal multiple hits to all enemies with Glorious Burst, deal damage to one enemy with GeoGrey Sword and Shining Blast, or heal the entire party for 2000 HP with Giga Heal +. He can take two actions per turn and increase his attack upon taking damage thanks to his Continuous Action and Anger support abilities.
Upon reaching Area 2, Savers Agumon got a whiff of the black shadow's scent and Masaru was ready to follow it, but Taichi stopped them because charging in like that was too dangerous. Masaru acknowledged it but justified it saying it was his style. His Agumon then lost track of the scent. Adventure Agumon asked his Savers counterpart why he always called Masaru "aniki", and Masaru answered that Agumon was his follower. The latter then explained that they communicated with their fists the first time they met, which shocked Taichi. Masaru said Agumon was good at punching and Agumon returned the compliment, then they both laughed.
The black shadow reappeared in Area 3 and took the form of Shine Greymon. Masaru and Agumon immediately called it as a fake, and the whole team was roaring for a fight. Having defeated the black shadow, Masaru praised both his and Taichi's fighting skills and Taichi thanked him for his help. However, Hackmon was wary because he felt someone was watching them. From a burst of light, Gankoomon appeared in front of them. Taichi and Agumon realized he was the one who brought them to the Digital Dungeon. Masaru thought he looked intimidating and his Agumon wondered if Gankoomon was an Ultimate-level Digimon. Hackmon knew who Gankoomon was, called him by name, then rushed at him. However, Gankoomon easily sent him flying while calling out his lack of experience. Hackmon refused to give up, and Taichi and Agumon were angry at their friend getting hurt. Gankoomon said their job was done. Taichi asked him what he brought them there for, but Gankoomon refused to explain, instead saying they had little time, then left in another flash of light. Masaru was worried for Hackmon, but one of the Agumon said he'd be alright though he couldn't talk, which calmed Taichi down. Taichi's Agumon asked him why he decided to fight by himself. Taichi asked him how he knew Gankoomon and Masaru thought they'd figure it out once Hackmon recovered. Nonetheless, both Masaru and his Agumon were in awe of Hackmon's guts, taking on such a strong enemy. Masaru left Hackmon in Taichi's hands to chase after Gankoomon, feeling he couldn't rest until he took him out, and his Agumon agreed. Taichi and his own Agumon refused to turn back because Gankoomon told them to. Masaru accepted they were separating but not before telling Taichi a fight wasn't over until a party gave up, which Taichi refused to do.
The protagonists met once again in Episode 74, "Everyone Unite! The Final Battle". They reunited because they heard about Gankoomon and Hackmon. Takuya pointed out a lot happened but it wasn't the time to deal with it and Masaru apologised to him for attacking him earlier. Kudou Taiki pointed out their first priority was to deal with this. However, a quake suddenly hit the Digital Dungeon, followed by the appearance of two Diablomon and a Keramon. Taichi realized they wouldn't get to the spatial core so easily. Masaru proposed them all to break in at once, Taiki thought they should conserve their energy, Matsuda Takato proposed to split into pairs but Taichi pointed out they wouldn't make it in time like that. Motomiya Daisuke told Taichi to just go ahead and Takuya recognized him as their leader. Hackmon told Taichi to pick who should go with them. If the player refuses every choice, Taichi won't be able to pick, and Hackmon will hurry him up to do it.
After stopping the spatial core, upon regaining consciousness, Hackmon found himself back in the normal Digital Dungeon, surrounded by the protagonists. He asked them what happened to the spatial control core. Agumon told him everything was fine and the copies were gone. Gankoomon then arrived and praised everyone. The Chosen Children were ready to go back to their own worlds, each with their own thoughts. Gankoomon granted them a reward: to face them, as a Royal Knight. After a harsh fight, the team won, with Hackmon being gladly surprised they did. Gankoomon wondered if that was the power of humans allied with Digimon. Hackmon and Gankoomon agreed they still had a lot of training to do. Taichi asked Gankoomon if they could finally go home. Gankoomon said yes, but added they would lose all memories they got in the Digital Space upon leaving it, since if they kept those memories from a space that existed beyond space-time, it would disturb the order of the Digital Field. Hackmon thought it was a shame since they just got to know each other, but the protagonists accepted it, if not without regrets, with Taiki and Akashi Tagiru feeling they'd meet again. They all then promised to do so, before finally separating.
Digimon World Re:Digitize Decode[edit]
Masaru barges in and forces Taiga into a fight in the Colosseum 1st floor. While this is the Free Battle: "My name's Daimon Masaru", the player can't select it and is forced into it after winning another battle. The receptionist Geo Greymon tries to stop him, since he can't just barge into the Colosseum and also humans aren't allowed to fight there in the first place. While Masaru finds that boring, he accepts the rules and sends Agumon to fight Taiga instead, with Agumon totally ready to fight. After being defeated, Masaru gets mad and wants to take Agumon's place but Geo Greymon physically and verbally stops him. Taiga just takes the chance and leaves.
Masaru does the same thing later on in the 20th floor for the Free Battle: "Man to Man Fight", as he wanted Taiga to face his Agumon again. Once again, angered by Agumon's defeat, Masaru tried to fight Taiga himself, only to be stopped by the receptionist Growmon. This time, Masaru actually punched Growmon. While he was ready to fight Taiga now, he realized that his Digisoul ignited from punching Growmon, so he performed a Digisoul Charge to evolve Agumon into Geo Greymon. Defeated once again, rather than mad, Masaru was now excited to fight Taiga, but Agumon was starving. Masaru asked him to endure it until he finished the fight but Agumon was extremely hungry, so Masaru left, though not before telling Taiga he'd win next time. This awards Taiga an Agumon (2006 Anime Version) and a Geo Greymon card.
Masaru later sends Taiga a mail, making it clear he'll keep trying until he wins. His next attempt is the 40th floor Free Battle: "The Final Fight", where Masaru immediately performs a Digisoul Full Charge to evolve Geo Greymon into Rize Greymon. While defeated, Masaru refuses to surrender and brought forth his full power, performing a Digisoul Charge Overdrive to evolve Rize Greymon once again into Shine Greymon to get payback for their constant defeats. After his second loss, Masaru was out of energy but still refused to give up. He then acknowledged Taiga as one of the few that could compete with him at his best so he gave Taiga the title of Japan's Nº1 fighter, shared with Masaru himself. After so much fighting, Agumon was starving once again, as was Masaru, so they left. This awards Taiga two Bancho Chips.
Masaru and Shine Greymon are the 4th fight of the Heavenly Hall Free Battle: "We'll put you to the test", succeeding Matsuda Takato as Dukemon (X-Antibody). As the last one of the team, Masaru then passes the baton once more to Yagami Taichi.
