デジタルワールドを守護する四聖獣の１匹であり、西方を守護し鋼の属性を持つ。神話の時代より君臨し続け、他の四聖獣デジモンと同じく伝説の存在であり、その強さは神にも匹敵すると言われている。また、四聖獣デジモンの中でも一番若い存在であるが、パワーは４匹の中でも最高である。その不死と絶大なパワーは、１２個の電脳核（デジコア）から生みだされていると言われている。バイフーモンは中立的存在ではあるがチンロンモン同様、基本的には味方になるような存在ではない。必殺技は口から敵を金属化させてしまう波動を放つ「金剛（こんごう）」。この技を受けたものは動けないまま、体が錆び、朽ち果てるまで死ぬことはできない。

Digimon Story
Appears as one of the Observers who commands the Silver Rank Tamers. He sends the troublesome Pagumon to the Player in order to make the disappointed Digimon get along with each other. He also appears as a boss Digimon at Freezing Mountain, but cannot be obtainable or evolved from any Digimon.
