In The Battle in Tokyo Against Orochimon, he and the other five Chosen Children's Perfect Digimon combined fighting again with the Perfect Digimon Orochimon that evolved from Eyesmon, on this time he seemingly destroys Orochimon with Giga Destroyer. However, Orochimon still survived and evolve into its Ultimate form, Nidhoggmon.

In The Tide-turning Update, it uses Over Flame for the first time during the battle against Splashmon Darkness Mode, but this technique was avoided by the opponent. Taichi's determination causes Metal Greymon to evolve into Metal Greymon: Alterous Mode for the first time.

He survived deletion and mechanized himself to become Metal Greymon, and became determined to serve Neo loyally and prove his worth when they reunited in the Digital World. Digimon World: Digital Card Arena[edit]

Metal Greymon is the Battle Master of Sage Tower's Battle Arena. Upon meeting him in the Battle Café, he remembers how the player and him met back in Beginner City, saying he's evolved and now defends Sage Tower, and explains that upon beating him, the player would obtain the title of Battle Master. He also points out that a shadow looms over the Digital World, and that the player is their only hope, but first he must beat the Arena. He uses the SEVEN deck, a Red/Flame, Blue/Water and Green/Nature deck with 3 attack, 3 defense and 4 evolution speed, that contains a great variety of Digimon. Upon being defeated, he praises the player, then asks him to meet him in the Battle Café. At the same time, the last Fusion Shop in the game opens.

In the Battle Café, Metal Greymon tells the player that the player's power is beyond Metal Greymon's imagination, then grants him the title of Battle Master, while warning him that it is not a physical title but something he carries in his heart, his enthusiasm for battles. He then tells the player about a crisis about to hit the Digital World, involving Infinity Tower, a tower that appeared close to Sage Tower and that had Darkness Digimon nest in it, and it now spreads a dark pulse that spreads evil all over the world. Metal Greymon then adds that it hasn't caused any damage yet, but it's only a matter of time, so he wants the player to go to Infinity Tower and defeat all the Darkness Card Tamers, as he can't leave Sage Tower himself. Having explained the situation, Metal Greymon gives the player the Passcode to Infinity Tower as well as the first Digimental of his third partner and the ability to trade cards with other people playing the game.

After beating Infinity Tower's third Battle Arena, Metal Greymon will have new dialogue in Sage Tower's Battle Café, where he tells the player that he lost as War Greymon, but that was only a step for him to reach his next level, and because of that, he has created a new Arena with the help of some old friends, and asks the player to enter it. He calls it a temporary Arena, but assures the player of its quality nonetheless.
