⇨ Japanese Another form of Sistermon Ciel that has awakened. Wearing the wimple causes the Holy Stigma to appear on its abdomen. Its cherished sword, the "Shirotsume-Ichimonji", harbors light within its blade, and becomes sharper with each swing. It displays elegant swordsmanship in lockstep with the radiance of its cherished sword, and the moment light overflows from its sword is precisely when it turns into a sword dance that fascinates those who see it.

Another form of Sistermon Ciel. It wears a wimple on its head and a mark appears on its chest, awakening its power. The feral power drawn out with its awakening raises its quick wits and movement, and it kills the enemy with a stooped-over stance.

Sistermon Ciel (Awake) debuted in the North American localization of Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth Hacker's Memory as a total replacement for Sistermon Noir (Awake). According to producer Habu Kazumasa, the decision to replace Sistermon Noir was due to sensitivities relating to religious imagery in North America (he has also noted that the decision, as a localization matter, was not in his hands[1]). He stated that Ciel (Awake) was nonetheless considered to be a canonical separate species and a third member of the Sistermon family alongside Noir (Awake).[2]
Sistermon Ciel (Awake)'s original Hacker's Memory design (pictured right) is an edited version of Sistermon Noir (Awake). Its black attire has been recolored blue to reduce the resemblance to a real-life Catholic nun, its hair and habit have been recolored, and the cat-like pointy ears on its wimple have been replaced with mouse-like round ears (although its dot sprite retains Noir (Awake)'s cat ears). It uses identical dual pistols and attack techniques to Sistermon Noir (Awake), except renamed.
In 2021, Sistermon Ciel (Awake) began to make appearances in Japanese Digimon material as a separate Digimon species in its own right. At this point, its design was revised to distinguish it from Sistermon Noir (Awake): although its attire remains generally identical to its design in Hacker's Memory (and therefore still strongly resembles Sistermon Noir), a "scar" was added to its wimple over its left eye, the hanging portion of its wimple was split into six trails, its cleavage was covered up, its abdomen was exposed, its Holy Stigma was moved from its chest to its abdomen, tears were added to its stockings, and its weapons and attack techniques were completely changed to use a katana and knives instead of pistols. This design has also been used in subsequent international releases that depict Sistermon Ciel.
Like in Hacker's Memory, Sistermon Ciel (Awake) (in its current design) totally replaces Sistermon Noir (Awake) in the English version of the Digimon Card Game. To accommodate for this, Bandai has published a ruling on the Digimon Card Game official site that establishes that, in order to ensure equality in international tournament play, Japanese Sistermon Noir (Awake) cards and their English replacement Sistermon Ciel (Awake) cards are treated as one and the same, and as having all of the properties of their counterpart in the other version of the game.[3]

Appearances[edit]
Video Games[edit]
Sistermon Ciel (Awake.) is exclusive to North American releases of Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth, in which it replaces Sistermon Noir (Awake). In this game, it is a simple edit of Sistermon Noir, so its design differs from later appearances.
Sistermon Ciel (Awake.) is unlocked for evolution if the player has the free Sistermon Ciel/Blanc bundle DLC.
Sistermon Ciel (Awake.) also appears in the "Evangelist of Love! Sistermon" case in Chapter 7. Sistermon Ciel evolves into this form to face Amasawa Keisuke, together with Sistermon Blanc (Awake), as the last boss of the case.
