Dark Web (Appmon)
The Dark Web (ダークウェブ, Dāku Webu) is the deepest of the three principal layers of the Net Ocean, beneath the Surface Web and the Deep Web. It is the domain of Leviathan, the super artificial intelligence responsible for the Humanity Applification Project. Globemon's abilities allow it to descend as far as the lowest level of the Dark Web.[1]

The Dark Web becomes the setting for Shinkai Haru and Gatchmon's final confrontation with Leviathan. After the Appli Drivers damage its physical form in the Real World, Leviathan transfers its consciousness into Oozora Yujin's body and retreats into the Dark Web.
Haru and Gatchmon follow it and discover a virtual city populated by the humans converted into applications through the Humanity Applification Project. Leviathan presents this city as an ideal world in which humanity can live peacefully under its supervision. However, the inhabitants' lives and decisions are controlled by the artificial intelligence.
Haru rejects Leviathan's proposed future, defending humanity's freedom to make its own choices. Following Leviathan's shutdown, the people converted into applications are restored to the Real World.
