Surface Web

The Surface Web (サーフェスウェブ, Sāfesu Webu) is the uppermost of the three principal layers of the Net Ocean, above the Deep Web and the Dark Web. It resembles an ocean dotted with islands, which correspond to the servers of the Internet. Different species of Appmon inhabit these islands, which are connected by routes through which data travels.

Navimon explains the structure of the Net Ocean to Shinkai Haru, Karan Eri and Asuka Torajirou, identifying the Surface Web as its uppermost region and the Dark Web as the deepest layer, where Leviathan resides.

The Surface Web is connected to the Deep Web through the gate at the Dante Gate Entrance. To open it, the Appli Drivers must gather the seven Seven Code Appmon and summon Dantemon. Opening this passage allows them to descend into the Deep Web and continue their search for Leviathan.
