The Coach (師匠, Shishō) is a fifth-grade elementary school student rumored to be an expert capable of raising the strongest Digimon. He is fashionable and cool-headed, but displays a passionate fighting spirit during Digimon battles. He is Digi's senior and mentor, and the Tamer whom Digi aims to surpass.[1]
Despite being only one school year above Digi, the Coach is knowledgeable about the Digital Monster and instructs Digi and Mon in its operation and the proper care of their Digimon. His confirmed Partner Digimon is Greymon.
Description[edit]
The Coach has long silver hair tied into a ponytail. He wears a dark blue shirt over a black high-necked undershirt, loose white trousers, a necklace, and earrings. He is generally shown carrying his Digital Monster.
Like the other characters created for Digital Monster: I'll Become the Digimon King!, the Coach was illustrated by Yabuno Tenya.

Go! Go!! Digimon[edit]
The Coach acts as Digi and Mon's instructor throughout the "Teach us, Coach!!" (教えて師匠！！, Oshiete Shishō!!) sections of the manga. When the siblings first activate their Digital Monsters but are unable to hatch their Digitamas, he appears and teaches them the devices' basic operations. After Digi begins feeding his newly hatched Botamon without restraint, the Coach returns and explains how to raise a Digimon correctly.[1]
The Coach later battles Digi using his Greymon. Digi's Airdramon defeats Greymon and subsequently evolves into Metal Greymon. No other evolutionary stage of the Coach's partner is identified in the manga.
