A Digimon that evolved from a Virus attribute Garurumon. Its speed has fallen due to becoming bipedal, but it makes up for that with a powerful, newly-attained technique which utilizes both of its arms. Its Special Move is tearing the opponent apart with the sharp claws on its hands (Kaiser Nail).

Voice Actor: Japanese Nakata Jouji

Were Garurumon, along with a Dogmon, enter a Trailmon race. They pilot Trailmon Buffalo. He cheats throughout the event, knocking out all but Kanbara Takuya piloting Trailmon Worm from the race. Near the end of the race, Takuya spirit evolves into Vritramon and combines his power with Trailmon Worm to create a flame that forced Trailmon Buffalo off the track, causing him to lose. Dogmon seemed to think this was funny and snickered, so he knocked him out. Were Garurumon and Dogmon later popped up at the Akiba Market amongst the Digimon being evacuated.

Were Garurumon (Black) is the master of the Botamon in the Gravel Wasteland. However, he disappeared after deciding to explore the Gravel Wasteland. Taiga found him collapsed on the ground due to being in the Boncano Volcano cave for too long and not being used to the sunlight. Taiga gave him a Medium HP Disc but it didn't work, and Were Garurumon (Black) thought something he could wear on his head would work better. If Digimaru is currently wearing a hat, Taiga will offer to give him said hat, which Were Garurumon (Black) thinks is a weird human invention but decides to give it a shot. With the hat, he thought he could get to a spot with shade but warns Taiga that the heat only gets worse further in. He then goes back to the Village of Beginnings. It then sends Taiga a mail with a Wanya Tail, its favourite accessory, to make them even, as well as telling Taiga to go to the Colosseum when he had free time. There, he returns the hat to Taiga and promises to cheer him on in Colosseum matches.

Four more Were Garurumon (Black), each bearing a different head accessory, attack Taiga in the Night Canyon after he inherits the territory from Were Garurumon, completely unwilling to accept anyone but their master, the evil Lord Waru Monzaemon as its owner. They run away after being defeated, leaving behind an Evil Heart Fragment each. After Taiga took down Waru Monzaemon, the four Were Garurumon (Black) showed themselves and accepted Taiga deserved the Night Canyon. They explained they were drawn to Waru Monzaemon's scent of evil and followed him around, but with Taiga the undeniable owner of the land, they decided to go to the Village of Beginnings instead, while hoping Taiga would end Waru Monzaemon once and for all. One of them can then be found in the Village of Beginnings, where it gives Taiga their catch of the day and tells him where Waru Monzaemon is.

Were Garurumon (Black) is an unobtainable Digimon.
