The Wall of Fire is a wall described in the prophecy inscribed in the Ancient Dino Region's ancient ruins. According to the prophecy, Apocalymon came through that Wall of Fire and almost destroyed the Digital World. The original Chosen Children came to defeat him. However, it was said that he would come through the wall once again, and so the 1999 group of children was chosen to defeat him.
The prophecy, as told by Gennai: "Long ago, something appeared from the other side of the Wall of Fire, which is located deep within the Digital World. Solely by existing, this creature has warped the fabric of space-time, and it almost brought this world to total destruction. The Digimon could not beat it with their own power, and so they called on Chosen Children from the Real World to help them eliminate it."
