Talk:Orgemon

From Wikimon

Where is his name spelled Orgemon? In the original Digimon Adventure analyzer, it is still Ogremon. -devkyu 01:33, 7 October 2008 (UTC)

On the analyzer in Digimon Adventure it is spelled as "Orgemon", the Daizukan and Digimon Dictionary-Ainz

>>>>JPMOD here. The only instance I can find of the word Orge being a word in any language is an archaic form of the word "orgy". Therefore not only is "Orgemon" a spelling error, leaving it as orgemon implies extreme sexual content and thus is inappropriate by definition.

you should have checked Wiktionary, I guess.KrytenKoro06 (talk) 13:37, 4 September 2022 (CDT)

I would say that this is the result of a little spelling error ( which happens dast ), which was not corrected and became permanent. So he is uspposed to be Ogremon, but they accidently named him Orgemon. Kinda like Picklemon. Can't we do the same as for Piccolomon in that case?-MugenseiRyuu

On the card DJT-1-090, the name is "correctly" spelled Ogremon. Does any of the other sources stand above everything else in terms of importance or is a trading card as good? --Grandy02 07:35, 13 March 2011 (CDT)

That is the only instance when it's been spelled correctly, but otherwise it has been consistently spelled as "Orgemon". The Jintrix cards, as well as some others, aren't really taht reliable for official names since there are also mistakes e.g. Beelzebmon, Malebirdramon, etc. --Ainz ( talk | contribs ) 07:59, 13 March 2011 (CDT)
Orgemon puts an OGRE banner on the wall of the Secret Beach Cave when it took over the place in Digimon World. I call Piccolo Protocol! --Jun 22:53, 26 April 2013 (CDT)

Orgemon's attack Hone Konbou is given the translation of Bone Rod on this page, however on its cards the translation lists it as Bone Club. Which should be changed? --Coatlmon 03:41, 29 November 2015 (EST)

Ogremon[edit]

Using "While the Japanese version is more consistent with their romanized character names, lately the idiots who run Digimon Dictionary have been providing extremely nonsensical transliterations of the Japanese names, even conflicting with grammatically correct ones they had already provided earlier. While we often err on the side of the more recent one provided by the Digimon Reference Book, it is up to Admin discretion." should we not rename this page? even the name section says it's just Ogre spelled wrong.Muur (talk) 23:02, 24 September 2019 (CDT)

>>> JPMOD here, I've been going out of my way to try and correct the mistake but I keep hitting snags, as I'm new to the wiki scene. How do I contact site mods to explain to them that Orge is not a word in any language (except to say something inappropriate) and get assistance correcting main page titles and url addresses from Orgemon to Ogremon? >>>>>>JPMOD again: Okay this is getting absolutely ridiculous it's CLEAR that the proper Japanese to English translation of Ogremon's name is OGREMON, it even says on the Ogre Fort! Why would the wiki prefer a CATEGORICALLY INCORRECT translation?

your guess is as good as mine. maybe they think it's funny. also, please sign your posts with 4 ~ Muur (talk) 09:57, 4 September 2022 (CDT)

>>>JPMOD there's absolutely no other explanation. The site mods have GOT to be trolls. (Or Ogres lol) how do I do that? Just type 4 ~ ? 4 ~
