Talk:Digital World
This Digital World doesn't include the Continent of Server, so I think it can't be used for Digimon Adventure and 02. Then again, Server might just be cropped out, so maybe we can get a better image. Also, it does not apply at all to Tamers (which has its own map on Konaka's site), or Frontier (which has 10 continents, one per element), or any of the anime, manga, games, or pets in the Yggdrasil world.
The map does apply to:
- Digimon virtual pet
- Digimon Pendulum
- Digimon Pendulum Progress
- Digimon Accel (?)
- Digimon Mini
- Digimon Twin
- Digimon World
- Digimon Digital Card Battle
- Digimon Adventure V-Tamer 01
- Battle Terminal
To apply to Adventure, Adventure 02, and Digimon World, it needs to cover the Directory and Server Continents.KrytenKoro06 03:42, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
Eastern Region[edit]
Can anyone source the Eastern Region bit for Digimon Adventures 02?--Daisuke Motomiya 01:08, 25 April 2011 (CDT)
Digital World's system = host computer?[edit]
Is it safe to assume that the system that manages the Digital World is synonymous with its host computer, or are they separate concepts? --Ainz ( talk | contribs ) 06:01, 5 August 2017 (CDT)
- I was under the impression that Yggdrasil/Homeros/ENIAC (?? I haven't finished Brave Tamer) were host computers, and they run a system/process that manages the Digital Worlds..then again i'm not very IT savvy so I'm not sure if I'm misunderstanding any of the concepts. Idk if they had elaborated more on this, the artbook coming out soon supposedly has a section on ecology/Royal Knights though so I'm hoping to see if they explain in more detail some of the background stuff about the Digital Worlds. --Garmmon (talk) 06:31, 5 August 2017 (CDT)
- Yeah, that's what's been been confusing me (unless "system" is referring to something like "operating system", so the host computers would be the hardware and their systems the software), damn IT jargon. At times, I wish the Reference Book would include things besides Digimon profiles like a glossary or something. --Ainz ( talk | contribs ) 06:58, 5 August 2017 (CDT)
- Yeah they really need to start a terminology section too, haha. Meanwhile Yggdrasill's profile in the animation chronicle (Savers): デジタルワールドの「神」と呼ばれる存在。本来デジタルワールドにその姿はなく、「どこにでもいるが、どこにもいない」とされていた。ふたつの世界の調和を願う英の求めに応じて、巨大な世界樹として現出。その正体はデジモンの進化を監視するために建造されたWIZ9000型コンピューターである。進化実験が人間の介入により失敗に終わったと判断し、すべてのデジモンを破棄しようとした。 They explicitly state that Yggdrasil is the host computer in the short X-Evo bit, but the bit on how Yggdrasil seems to be 'everywhere yet nowhere' in this profile makes it seem like it's referring to the OS or something (especially since Yggdrasil seems to act more like a software than a hardware)..--Garmmon (talk) 07:23, 5 August 2017 (CDT)

About deleted changes[edit]
I already explained in another thread why I think we should count vpet stuff as "null canon", so I wont talk about it again here trying to justify the mention of the LR Wars and the dark island that appeared in the digital world. However, I don't see why you had to delete the information about the digital world's dimensions. The digimon profile that talks about witchelny already explained that it is a dimension that exists within the main digital world and that there are many more dimensions appart from this one. The DRB mentions a lot of these dimensions that all exist within the Digital World from the null canon and that's why I added them in. Habu also mentioned that Witchelny isn't one of the three main digital world and is instead a parallel dimension to the main digital world hosted by yggdrasill, I had this as one of the sources cited in the page before it was deleted, but seems like no one cared.
I also think that there should be at least a mention about the New Digital World, since it is literally connected to the Digital World from this page and its lore is very important in the main canon, but all mentions about it were also deleted.--Convergencia Digital (talk) 06:37, 13 December 2022 (CST)
- the new digital world can be mentioned briefly, but all info pertaining to it should be on its own page. the stuff from digimon profile is fine. vpet stuff isnt. and its not bullying vpets, if the next story game makes up a bunch of stuff about the dw it would only apply to that. note that this page is specfically about yggdrasil's world, so a lot of the deleted stuff wasnt relevant. witchelny being a parallel dimension is exactly that- means its well, its own dimension so techincally isnt part of the dw itself. (also to note, a lot of the time we have to ignore people like habu on a null canon scale and include their stuff in the stuff they made. e.g. if habu makes some stuff up we cant just apply it to tamers. even watanabe cant apply to the entire franchise as he left for a few years to work on otehr franchises (and him saying things such as super ulitmate isnt a level, but then some media say it is. digimon is inconsistent. we dont consider super ultimate to be null canon, but we *do* include it in places where its mentioned to exist like cyber sleuth) Digital World (concept) actually shows that it seems wikimon count each digital world as its own thing such as adventure vs tamers etc so the thing about the dark islsnad should be on a page for the digital world of whatever game its fromMuur (talk) 06:57, 13 December 2022 (CST)
rename[edit]
since this page is meant to cover the yggdrasil world, should this be renamed to something like Digital World (Yggdrasil)? would prevent issues in poeple thinking this was meant to be the page that is Digital World (concept).Muur (talk) 16:44, 16 December 2022 (CST)
