Talk:Apollomon: Whispered

From Wikimon

Aren't Sun of Sorrows and Nageki no Taiyou the same thing?[edit]

Both attacks have the same name in different languages and do the same thing. Furthermore, Apollomon: Whispered was created exclusively for the Xros Wars anime and its DRB profile seems heavily based on it. I think this is a similar situation to War Greymon's Brave/Great Tornado where the same attack was given different names in different media (or perhaps more closely, Yuki Agumon's Little Blizzard becoming Itetsuku Kaze in Tamers). It may be better to just have one line here with a note like those two have.--Blaze Dragon (talk) 06:42, 13 March 2026 (CDT)

It's a judgment call we'll have to make. I wouldn't mind just treating them as the same attack and putting a note on it unless we happen to learn otherwise. --TMS (talk) 21:50, 13 March 2026 (EDT)
I thought nageki had a stronger effect where it was constantly growing, didn't it?KrytenKoro06 (talk) 09:47, 14 March 2026 (CDT)
the english version being sun of all sorrows and rising sun of all sorrows does imply one is meant to be the stronger version of the other.Muur (talk) 09:52, 14 March 2026 (CDT)
The distinction is only present in the dub. The Japanese names of the two attacks mean the same thing; one's just in Japanese instead of English. Anyway, it wouldn't be the first time there are subtle differences in the way an attack is depicted. Presumably Sun of Sorrows also needs to be built up rather than appearing instantly at its full size. --TMS (talk) 11:37, 14 March 2026 (EDT)
