| Vipmon is one of the Digimon designed for Digital World: Iliad (specifically for the Digimon Pendulum COLOR 8 Celestial Walker). Snakes were identified as one of the essential motifs when telling Greek myths, and fruits were also noted to be a rarely used motif for Digimon. Nakano Haito designed Vipmon based on a combination of snakes and grapes, directly relating to Bacchus, the God of Wine and namesake of Bacchusmon. Snakemon is a similar case of a snake motif Digimon designed by Haito, while Ambromon is another Digimon designed with connections to Bacchusmon, both for the same virtual pet.[1]
