Translations[edit]

Because the English games aren't accurate translations. Seriously, don't do that anymore, you need to have someone actually fluent in Japanese translate the profiles.KrytenKoro06 (talk) 02:04, 30 July 2014 (CDT)

Um... even if they are not entirely accurate translations of the Japanese text, should they not still be included as they are still, you know, official? Canon?
Besides, I am actually confident that the translation of Moonmon in particular is pretty accurate (because I can read the Japanese and the text matches up pretty well). Lunamon's also seems accurate. Dianamon, not so much (as there are a few sentences left out at the end).
Is there an official wiki policy on this?

As it is best to avoid starting an edit war with a moderator, I will refrain, for now, from introducing English translations from the dub games. I will still work on improving the information for the Digimon for Sunburst and Moonlight, as I did with Moonmon. I still believe that attacks from Sunburst and Moonlight should be allowed, especially since Lunamon already has them. --Part-Time Digimon Fan - Mackinz (talk) 23:49, 30 July 2014 (CDT)
I'm not a moderator (and that shouldn't be why you refrain from an edit war, anyway -- it should be because you recognize you're violating site policy), but yes, there is official policy -- this wiki is for the Japanese franchise, with dub material included as an extra, not as the main content. By definition, this wiki considers dub material non-canon. I've personally translated many of the profiles, and I can tell you at a glance that they are inaccurate and out-of-line with the wiki's scope.
If you only have access to the dub material and want to focus on that, Digimon Wiki should be your destination. These two wikis are sister sites, with wikimon focusing on the original BoJ material, and Digimon Wiki focusing on the English localization.
If you're confused about any of this wiki's policies, I would suggest contacting the active admins, User:Ainz, User:Koroku, User:Grandy02, or User:Devkyu.KrytenKoro06 (talk) 12:16, 31 July 2014 (CDT)
Sorry for the confusion! I am, however, going to continue keeping away from the Wikia as I feel it is much lower quality than this wiki. I specifically joined this wiki for the quality information and better organization. I do not see why there should be a split between wikis based solely on whether information is derived from Japanese or the Dub, but whatever. I did some more reading on the Wikimon policies and hope that I will not violate them any more. --Part-Time Digimon Fan - Mackinz (talk) 18:53, 31 July 2014 (CDT)

Page Moves[edit]

Please stop moving pages. Not every digimon with a different form has a colon in their name. Their pages have the most updated official spellings.--devkyu (talk) 19:44, 11 August 2014 (CDT)

For Digimon like Agumon: Burst Mode and Bancho Leomon: Burst Mode, there are no official spellings as far as I'm aware so I moved them solely to have them match up with other Burst Mode forms (They all had colons). I moved Aegiochusmon: Dark‎ and Aegiochusmon: Holy as they did not match up with the other two Aegiochusmon (Aegiochusmon: Green, and Aegiochusmon: Blue) but I can see your point that the move may not have been appropriate. I moved Shine Greymon: Ruin Mode as to fall in line with other Burst Mode forms, though that, again, may not have been appropriate. Those are the five pages I moved today.
As other forms, such as Ofanimon: Falldown Mode, Lucemon: Falldown Mode, Lucemon: Satan Mode, Duftmon: Leopard Mode, Junomon: Hysteric Mode, and Mad Leomon: Armed Mode have colons, I feel that all "--- Mode" pages should have a colon in them. It feels more logical to name the Digimon as such than, say, Imperialdramon Fighter Mode. I will not necessarily be moving any more pages just to add colons, however.
If any of the five moves I made are in error, please indicate so and I will undo them with no hassle. --Part-Time Digimon Fan - Mackinz (talk) 20:11, 11 August 2014 (CDT)
