- Yes, I just read the issue. It can be found online (one of the few issues that can). There isn't really any context, it just kinda...happens in a fight with Mojyamon. To be honest I suspect that it was a mistake that no one caught. Those comics didn't exactly have the most oversight. In case it was ambiguous, the text box literally says "Hawkman armour digivolves to Nefertimon", and suddenly Yolei/Miyako is riding Nefertimon. Neferti then loses the fight and gets devolved back to Hawkmon. I suspect there are probably many other oddities like this in the various original European Digimon comics, but most are lost at the moment. --Rizeveedramon (talk)

- It's an official product, and if it's a mistake, it's a mistake on the editorial side (ie. not knowing the "lore" very well), not a printing error or something like that. It's very directly presented in the story, and is maintained throughout the issue. It may be a mistake, but it wasn't an accident. Such mistakes have been considered canonical in other instances. No reason to arbitrarily decide what does and doesn't count just because it's weird. These kinds of odd evolutions happen all the time.
