Talk:Digimon Adventure -Beyond-
timeline[edit]
I guess it jumps between multiple years. the first part obviously is at some point between 2006 and 2010 (cody in high school), but the events with maki and meiko have to be around 2006 (I guess maki was found in the dark ocean and taken to the hospital, whilst meiko looks the same as she did in tri) and those later events with matt/tai surely cant be after beginning as us claiming/implying they came back to life off screen is a bit much.Muur (talk) 01:43, 21 March 2025 (CDT)
- It's all speculation so who knows. I tried to Occam's Razor my way through it because otherwise it's a mess, any part could happen at any time and it's insane to put notes on every single scene. There's no reason to believe any of what you said beyond speculation too, since your argument that they couldn't come back off-screen is disproved by the very fact that they did, the epilogue has them alive and how it happened may never be depicted since every Adventure project is completely disconnected from the last. --Blaze Dragon (talk) 07:04, 21 March 2025 (CDT)
- I think some speculation goes beyond what's acceptable on a wiki. For example, Iori is still in high school at the end of "The Beggining," and the opening scene could also take place later, having recovered the Digivices and Digimon off-screen.--Aiks (talk) 03:35, 26 March 2025 (CDT)
- why would a 19 year old Cody be in high school?Muur (talk) 08:54, 26 March 2025 (CDT)
- Because there's no source that says he's 19, that's another piece of information that needs to be removed from the wiki. What there is a source for is that he's a high school student. https://digimon-partners.net/content/magazine/9589/ I plan to fix this and many more character things in the coming days. --Aiks (talk) 09:40, 26 March 2025 (CDT)
- "the opening scene could also take place later, having recovered the Digivices and Digimon off-screen" is also speculation though and there's no reason to believe or disbelieve they'd recover their Digivices. If anything, The Beginning shows the Digivices disappearing as a good thing and the epilogue doesn't show the characters with them, so it may be permanent. I'll give you Iori could still be a high schooler though, I didn't know about that source. The whole thing's hard to point out simply because Adventure doesn't particularly care about continuity between projects after 02 and plot holes are everywhere (even in 02 itself). I guess the best way to go forward is just to avoid pointing out any time periods until we got proper confirmations, which will likely never happen. --Blaze Dragon (talk) 11:56, 26 March 2025 (CDT)
- Of course, my example was just another speculation. The point is that information that could be incorrect shouldn't be shared. I think it's best to leave it only after 02 and when Iori is in high school (the only officially confirmed information).--Aiks (talk) 12:46, 26 March 2025 (CDT)
- https://digimon.fandom.com/wiki/Talk:List_of_characters_in_Digimon_Adventure#Lui i mean the official site for beggning takls about how hes about to go to law school and works at a lawyer company. sounds more like he *jus* finished high school.Muur (talk) 19:12, 26 March 2025 (CDT)

Given that Kakudou doesn’t appear to have considered the various sequels to Adventure and 02 when working on Beyond and some of its related films, it’s probably best not to speculate about where this short fits in relation to those entries, out of respect for the director’s intent. For example, "Hida Iori mentions he's a high schooler to the unnamed International Chosen Child. He's a high schooler in Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna and Digimon Adventure 02: The Beginning, this could happen before or after the movies. Furthermore, Agumon and Gabumon are still around, with no time to come back between both films, thus placing it also before Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna or after Digimon Adventure 02: The Beginning. Yagami Taichi is also shown using a normal smartphone and his original Digivice instead of the Smartphone Digivice he owned in Last Evolution: Kizuna" could be revised or alternatively, it could simply be omitted, as it’s based on fan speculation. Overall, we should aim to reword sentences like this to more clearly and accurately reflect what Beyond is trying to convey. --Shadow Shinji (talk) 15:47, 4 May 2026 (CDT)
- This makes sense to me, I also think this page will probably need to have the "13+" bits rewritten once we have the whole story of Kakudou’s as well. So with that in mind, I support this idea. --NightwingFan (talk) 15:55, 4 May 2026 (CDT)
- Yeah, I agree. I wrote that originally trying to make canon sense out of a bunch of shorts with very little dialogue, since they didn't seem to ignore the previous parts of the franchise entirely. 13+ sheds a whole new light in where it stands and completely changes that idea, so I'll just remove my notes completely while desperately hoping we'll get a full translation of 13+ someday.--Blaze Dragon (talk) 16:11, 4 May 2026 (CDT)
- interesting to note that he has got cody's age wrong. he would be 18 in the scene in the car in 2011. but he says hes 16. kaduko messed that up. cody can still be in high school at 18, but, saying hes 16 is wrong and would mean he was 7 in 02 when he wasnt.Muur (talk) 16:25, 4 May 2026 (CDT)
- What should we do about Partner Digimon? Part 2 shows that the Archnemon that seemingly was the villain of its vignette is actually Jun's Partner Digimon, an evolved Kodokugumon. Joe's brothers and Miyako's siblings also get Partners of their own (Gomamon and Holsmon, respectively), with the Holsmon shown in the short itself. Should we add them to their respective pages like the International Chosen Children have their Digimon? If so, should Archnemon be classified as that (the form we see it in Beyond) or Kodokugumon (its base form according to 13+ but also not one shown in Beyond itself)? At the very least, I'm removing what was wrong speculation about Archnemon from all pages (it being 02 Archnemon and it being evil)--Blaze Dragon (talk) 17:00, 4 May 2026 (CDT)
- So I know you’d just mentioned how you would need to delete all your notes about the timeline and such from the Beyond page, but I think the best way to cover this across the wiki would be to make notes. Like Archnemon’s page could mention its appearance in Beyond, but a note covering the events of 13+, the fact that it was a Kodokugumon that evolved, etc. could be noted that way. A similar write-up could probably be added to Jun’s page. But that’s just my thinking, I’ll leave it up to everyone else. Also, unrelated, but I think we should move the Synopsis to the top of this page rather than putting it below the Development section. I think it makes more sense to read a basic overview of the product, then get the development story, then get into the plot summary and characters and such. --NightwingFan (talk) 18:20, 4 May 2026 (CDT)

- as stated on community, information should not be listed off this page on other pages. weve now been given context that the arukenimon was not the 02 one, so it was fair to remove that link - but putting more than that is going against the staff saying not to use information from it. in addition to that, since the halsemon in the video did not have humans on their backs, we cannot say they were partnered to yolei's family within the video itself. we can provide context for stuff on *this* page, but should not be listed on other pages due to the script version not being official and only use whats shown in the video on other pages. so this page could say "the armor digimon are partnered to yolei's family" in the development section, but not elsewhere (actually I guess you can sorta see little bits of body parts on some of them). the clutch of it is, he may have said this, but an 'official' version may not. we should try to explain the context of each scene with extra information but have it in development section only. also the part of "respecting kaduko's intent" feels kinda iffy to me when kaduko didnt do that for the directors of these other media by going "theyre alt timelines lol". Muur (talk) 22:35, 4 May 2026 (CDT)
- Guys, please don’t give too much weight to Muur’s objections. Feel free to add relevant information to the respective pages whenever it is valuable and properly supported with sources. In the same way we already use Konaka’s blog notes to supplement the wiki with information about the worldview of Tamer, Habu Kazumasa’s tweets to expand information on Cyber Sleuth and Hacker’s Memory characters, Naoki Akamine’s social media comments confirming that the extra Appmon level in the manga is equivalent to an AppGattai, the original Bemmon sketches shared by its designer confirming the inspiration for its mouth design being Tentomon's, or Tenya Yabuno confirming details such as manga Taichi’s original name and birthday, just to name a few examples, it is also reasonable to use director notes from Beyond to supplement certain pages.
- For example, details like background information on how the D-Terminal works or Miyako’s siblings also having Halsemon as partners are perfectly valid additions when sourced appropriately. There was never any agreement limiting contributions only to Toei or Bandai official publications, nor would that be consistent with how the wiki has historically operated, since a large amount of relevant information already comes from staff members and creators discussing the projects they worked on.
- The issue here is not sourcing standards, but selective resistance to information that some users dislike, particularly regarding certain elements of Adventure being reframed as AU material in Beyond. That frustration should not dictate what is or is not included on pages. The purpose of the wiki is to document relevant, sourced information consistently, not to selectively exclude material based on personal preferences. --Shadow Shinji (talk) 02:40, 5 May 2026 (CDT)
- ”Feel free to add relevant information to the respective pages whenever it is valuable and properly supported with sources” TMS literally said we can’t?????? Why are you telling people to go against staff and claiming I’m the one who said you can’t!?!? You’re telling people to go against staff!Muur (talk) 07:00, 5 May 2026 (CDT)
- That’s not exactly what TMS said, unless I misunderstood him. He said his current stance is that we should cover +13 as long as it’s self-contained, and he opened the discussion for others to weigh in. I just don’t want to argue about this here. --Shadow Shinji (talk) 07:42, 5 May 2026 (CDT)
- ”self contained” means only on the one page. So the 13+ page. Aka this one.Muur (talk) 07:49, 5 May 2026 (CDT)
- Your fights aside, I can see a point for adding Archnemon and Holsmon since those are seen in Beyond itself and Beyond gives very little information about what's going on. It's sort of like Seekers in that regard, where the live action shorts are devoid of context and you should read the novel to understand what's happening, or Liberator that gets notes to supplement the manga and novel. Only here the context is in a weird grey area of canon, hence why I'm not really acting on it and just wondering what everyone thinks.--Blaze Dragon (talk) 07:51, 5 May 2026 (CDT)
- I feel the same way. There’s no strong reason to skip material that’s actually shown in the short, especially when the novels help clarify it. Anything not explicitly shown can probably stay on this page, but even then, I think we should aim to cover as much as possible if it’s relevant to the wiki and helps expand the Adventure lore, like the background of the D-Terminal I mentioned earlier.
- My issue with Muur is that he seems more focused on gatekeeping what the articles should include because he doesn’t enjoy Beyond—which he’s been open about—rather than considering what’s best for the wiki. This has been an ongoing pattern, and it’s not really helping anyone.
- In a typical discussion, people suggest solutions, make comparisons, give examples, build arguments, and try to find common ground. What I’ve seen from him since yesterday, though, is mostly just a rant about how much he dislikes the retcon Kakudou introduced. To me, that’s neither constructive nor acceptable. --Shadow Shinji (talk) 08:14, 5 May 2026 (CDT)
