Talk:Bancho Mamemon
Can we verify the profile? It seems to be missing some words, especially in the first sentence.KrytenKoro06 (talk) 19:30, 10 April 2014 (CDT)

BAN-TYO vs. Bancho[edit]
Wikimon's reference book translations for Bancho Mamemon and Bancho Golemon both have a singular instance where they erroneously translate "bancho" to "BAN-TYO". In both cases, the original Japanese text uses バンチョー which is consistent with every other time the original Japanese writes the word "bancho" whereas when the franchise uses the term "BAN-TYO" it's written in the original Japanese as 「BAN-TYO」, as can be seen in Darkdramon's reference book entry. Bancho and BAN-TYO are both canon names for the same group, but from what I can tell, "BAN-TYO" is specifically the codename the D-Brigade use for "Bancho" digimon as I haven't seen any other context where "BAN-TYO" is used. So in Bancho Mamemon's translation where it says "it acquired the title of BAN-TYO from being able to avoid enemies without losing its own family as well in all kinds of predicaments", that would make sense as earning it the favorable "Bancho" title but makes little to no sense of earning it the unfavorable "BAN-TYO" codename as that's a term literally used by his enemies
