Lv.7 Digimon Card Game[edit]
I personally feel that the Lv.7 Digimon from the current TCG should be considered also Super Ultimate de facto for organizational purposes at least. Otherwise, they would just be considered stronger Lv.6 like previous card games. How do you guys feel about it? --Shadow Shinji (talk) 11:32, 21 April 2022 (CDT)
- it still lists them as ultimates so we can't. Super ultimate class might work like how the old cards says Shoutmon was lv3 but had no actual level so we said he was child class rather than child level. We can't say they're super ultimate though it doesn't say that in the level box. The vpets use lv7 and lv8 too we can't just claim they're su they're not. Jesmon gx being lv8 would present a problem doing that we'd have to invent a level name Muur (talk) 12:16, 21 April 2022 (CDT)
- Oh I forgot for a second they were listed as Ultimate too, my bad. About the potential Lv.8, which I don't personally see coming after Merciful Mode being Lv.7, well generally speaking even outside of the card game, since Super Ultimate entails everything beyond Ultimate by definition, they would be SU as well de facto, in my opinion. Stronger SU if you will. I mean, ZeedMillenniumon has been for a while now.--Shadow Shinji (talk) 12:23, 21 April 2022 (CDT)
- if it didn't say level names and only said lv7 I probably would've been fine with it. The problem was that it says ultimate in the level field. As for zeed it theoretically could be lv8 but for now the sole lv8 Digimon is jesmon gx. The lv7 card game Digimon will get it eventually new century slaps su onto anything that evolves from a mega. Bit annoying actually Muur (talk) 13:10, 21 April 2022 (CDT)
- Does it particularly matter if the Lv.7 Digimon in the card game say that they're Ultimate? I mean, even this very page acknowledges "in the broader canon Digimon claimed to be of such a level are considered to be of the Ultimate level." But I think a simple solution would be to just have a second list underneath the current one, with a note stating that the following Digimon are considered Level 7 and Level 8 in certain media but have yet to be referred to specifically as a Super Ultimate.--Yamato-san (talk) 23:12, 1 June 2022 (CDT)
- obviously it matters. it is exclusively for digimon that are 超究極体 not 究極体. dont shove head canons in just cuz you like them. armor digimon show as lv4 and say armor. the level box has their level in it. you would have to include ultimate2 from the ds games and burst mode from digimon masters as well.Muur (talk) 02:18, 2 June 2022 (CDT)
- I'm not shoving in head canons. I'm just saying that Level 7 and Level 8 could at least be acknowledged on this page due to appearing in certain media, much like how the Super Ultimate stage itself is acknowledged regardless of its arguable status as a true stage. Again, I'm just citing what's already written on the page itself, which specifically refers to Super Ultimate as "a higher seventh level," which is exactly what the card game has.--Yamato-san (talk) 06:22, 2 June 2022 (CDT)

- So I'm kinda okay with the way Super Ultimates/Lv7 are acknowledged on the page currently. However, do the Digimon Card Game's Lv.7 Digimon really need to be mixed in with the Burst Modes from Digimon Masters? This might be opinionated, and forgive me if I sound ignorant, but Masters in general feels like just a foreign project that Bandai themselves are very off-hands with (and I'd also argue the same for Digimon New Century, especially with its tendency to count literally any Mode Change as a Super Ultimate, though it at least introduces new Digimon to the franchise). At any rate, what gets counted as a "Lv.7" under this system feels extremely arbitrary. Is there a reason why the Digimon Masters stuff isn't counted in the "Level 6+" section immediately below it?--Yamato-san (talk) 13:29, 19 January 2026 (CST)
- Or just given its own section, for that matter?--Yamato-san (talk) 13:54, 19 January 2026 (CST)
- its still official media. anyway, the korean version at some point actually swapped from burst mode to super ultimate (english kept it as BM). i feel like its just being stupid to not put it in the level box tho, most of this page can be trimmed by just doing that and having a category. its simping the reference book too hard compared to other media. also why is mega2 from the ds games not counted the same as mega+? Is "Super Ultimate" Official?[edit]
I'm just a bit curious, does the phrase "Super Ultimate" ever appear in any sort of official capacity? Or is it effectively just a fan translation of 超究極体 Chōkyūkyokutai (albeit an accurate one)? I know that all the other evolution stages appeared in Japanese media with their names spelled out in Roman lettering at some point, but I'd be surprised if the same were to be the case with Super Ultimate, given how rarely it's even acknowledged in the franchise at all (and only more so now that recent Japanese media has been incorporating the dub stage names). --Yamato-san (talk) 23:43, 5 February 2026 (CST)
- Yes it is, Cyber Sleuth, Hackers Memory, Time Stranger and some other video games literally call the Digimon Super Ultimates. In fact the first one to do it is VTamer but it was only for Arkhadimon and Demon/Ulforce's extra forms. It just never shows up in the Anime--R13 (talk) 00:18, 6 February 2026 (CST)
- This is the first one I can recall.KrytenKoro06 (talk) 07:24, 9 April 2026 (CDT)
Lists[edit]
It might be easier to have a table with 3 data columns, "Super Ultimate", "LV7", and "Lv 6+". As-is, there's a bit of redundancy and evasiveness.KrytenKoro06 (talk) 07:27, 9 April 2026 (CDT)
- I’d like to resuggest this idea, just because the redundancy has only increased since April lol. Chaosdramon for example is listed as a Super Ultimate thanks to Digimon New Century, and then listed again as a Card Game Level 7 below later thanks to EX-12. The issue is that it, along with Burst Modes, Zeed Millenniumon, and maybe others are duplicated across both lists despite the Level 7 section clearly stating it only lists Digimon that aren’t part of the earlier list.
- Simplifying it with a table or at least a similar idea would remove the need to move Digimon between sections or remove duplicates like this.-NightwingFan (talk) 09:00, 5 June 2026 (CDT)
