Talk:Symbare Angoramon

From Wikimon

Possible Name Origin?[edit]

Once I saw the name written in Japanese I thought it reminded me of something. I suspect the name is derived from a Jinbaori, given that Symbare Angoramon's fur has a distinctly vest-like appearance. This reference was used in another Bandai franchise too, with the Jimber Arms from Kamen Rider Gaim, where Jimber is written in the exact same way as Symbare is in Japanese. I think there's a way better chance that it's "Sympa" (french for nice, attractive, beautiful) and hare (which it is). Considering angora is a popular french rabbit.KrytenKoro06 (talk) 12:53, 24 January 2022 (CST)
angora rabbits are Turkish though.Muur (talk) 16:54, 24 January 2022 (CST)
That shouldn't be too much of an issue. We have cases like Saint Galgomon that mix a Swiss and a Spanish dog breed names. Keebo (talk) 20:07, 24 January 2022 (CST)
It's an interesting idea, but I'm not sure Sympa would be written as Jinbā. I'm no expert on transcribing French words into Japanese though. Hare would be ハレ when transcribed from English I believe, so that part definitely seems off. --TribalChupacabra (talk) 17:35, 8 February 2022 (CST)
They originated in turkey, but are traditionally french due to extreme popularity. Like how American mustangs are from Spain originally.KrytenKoro06 (talk) 10:13, 8 February 2022 (CST)
