Possible non-mispelling etymology:

A "pail" is a group of wasps. Given that Paildramon is an insect-dragon Digimon, and his attacks center around those stings of his (multiple), could this be it?KrytenKoro06 10:06, 20 June 2009 (UTC)

It’s been removed from Wiktionary as per wiktionary:Talk:pail, and when I tried to search the Web for this, the Wiktionary talk page was the only actual instance on the whole first page of search results. The talk page refers to an Answers.com answer as a source, which itself says this meaning “[lacks] citation and [is] almost certainly [a] malicious coinage that should be avoided”. I’ve also checked the definitions of “pail” in several dictionaries and couldn’t find a single mention of wasps. I think this etymology should be removed from Wikimon. Esgrima lassos

Does anyone know where the bit about lassos in the DRB profile translation comes from? As far as I can tell, the Japanese text (得意技は両腕の甲から伸びるスパイクでラッシュを繰り出す『エスグリーマ』) does not mention this. It seems to me like whoever translated this originally somehow misread ラッシュ(rush) as "lasso," and/or misinterpreted Paildramon shooting out its fingers as being what Esgrima referred to. The English translation on the site (Paildramon uses its signature move...to rush the enemy with spikes extended from the shells on both arms) seems like the accurate interpretation (and is consistent with how Esgrima has actually been shown in media).--SpiderAppreciator (talk) 22:56, 29 January 2024 (CST)
