Talk:Granit

Gender/sex[edit]
In the official Spanish sub Granit is referred to as she. Does the English version and more importantly, the original version, follow the same pattern?--Shadow Shinji (talk) 05:07, 6 January 2026 (CST)
- Speaking of gender. Do you know if Honoka is actually a girl or a boy. Because I heard theories that Honoka is actually an otoko no ko (crossdressing boy) and having been thought about it she does look like one--R13 (talk) 05:08, 6 January 2026 (CST)
- Good question! I have also heard that theory on social media from many different sources. I can see why people may think that way, but as far as I can tell, in the actual episode this is not clarified. --Shadow Shinji (talk) 11:33, 6 January 2026 (CST)
- the actress said he is a boy. spain also turned cody into a girl (then retconned him to boy in the 2020 movie sequels) so... eh. as for honoka, people just dont want to admit flat girls exist. a kid's show isn't really the place for this kind of thing (in things like the more adult aimed games the games, sure, they even had that with the cross dressing maid in cyber sleuth) source that granit is male and source that honoka is a girl Muur (talk) 18:43, 6 January 2026 (CST)
- Do you mind providing the source of that comment from the voice actress? Also what does the British or American version call Granit? The precise timing in the Spanish version is when the character goes away after BomberNanimon explodes for the first time, the character is referred to as a girl by Tomoro and Gekkomon. I have some buts about that statement. First and foremost, there are non binary and transexual people of every age, it shouldn't be considered something that a child cannot comprehend because it's in human nature, just like there are brunette and blond people. Secondly, Breatbreak has been stated to be targeted at young adults mainly. --Shadow Shinji (talk) 19:09, 6 January 2026 (CST)
- the official site. it could be the official translation messed up i guess, but its also worth nothign that crunchyroll subs are done by CR themselves, rathr than toei or bandai (i gues the dub getting to this episode could be helpful?) regrdless, unless we get something else, the official site is the highest source we have. maybe put a note on this page saying its inconsistent right now and some places are saying female? also if tomoro *does* say female...tbf, hed just be assumig from appearence an is wrong in universe? - Another user provided me with the info you mentioned plus a screenshot of the Spanish, English and Portuguese version from Crunchyroll. The English seems neutral whilst the Portuguese uses a masculine name. I guess he is supposed to be a boy, unless future references state otherwise.--Shadow Shinji (talk) 19:26, 6 January 2026 (CST)
