Palo Alto University
Palo Alto University (パロアルト大学, Paro Aruto Daigaku) is a university in California in which the Wild Bunch studied at the where the group was formed. Most of the significant breakthroughs during their research project occurred there during the 1980's, headed by Professor Rob McCoy. While the artificial intelligence project was in its infancy, Rob McCoy's son designed the Digimon, Mizuno Gorou wrote the code that allowed the Digimon to evolve, Daisy designed the devices that allowed them to communicate with the Digimon.
The short story Digimon Tamers 1984 goes into detail of the life of the Wild Bunch as students at the Palo Alto University as well as the early stages of the Digimon Project.

Palo Alto University itself is entirely fictional, however it could be an alias of Stanford University, California located adjacent to the city of Palo Alto, in Silicon Valley or based on PARC (Palo Alto Research Center).
