The Core Source Code Crystal (核心源码水晶, Héxīn Yuánmǎ Shuǐjīng) is a central system artifact that governs the data flow and overall balance of the Digital World in Digimon: Source Code. Its destruction triggers widespread instability, disrupting the world's structure and causing uncontrolled evolution. Those who harness the power of the Core Source Code Crystal can influence the course of evolution itself.

Its fragments resonate and interfere with one another, allowing them to function like radar for locating other pieces. These fragments can be stored within the Source Code Bracelet. Each fragment contains immense energy that only elite Digimon can wield. In addition, they possess the ability to restore Anomalous Digimon to their original state and to seal the spatial rifts that allow these Digimon to escape from the Reverse Dimension into the Digital World.

A crystal shard infused with evil energy becomes known as a Dark Crystal (黑暗水晶, Hēi'àn Shuǐjīng).
