The general of the Earth-god Army of the "Big Death-Stars". It is a tactician that has the ability to freely manipulate gravity, and with that ability it has the ingenuity to survey the entire situation and control the course of the battle at will. The beauty of its plots are even said to be "ingenuity, as if gushing forth", so it makes sport of the enemy army by weaving formulaic tactics together with creative schemes. God Beast Digimon account for the majority of its army, which has overwhelming strength in terms of military power. Because it enjoys stimulating tactics, it uses the battlefield as Gravimon's testing ground. It is an investigative Digimon which continues to zealously research questions like, how many casualties can be produced easily, which tactic lets it listen to a multitude of screams, what creative scheme will surprise the enemy or ally as they die, which method will cause all of the opponents to die without shedding blood, and so on. With its "Octa Gravity", which manipulates the gravity on the battlefield using its eight tentacles, it controls the opponent's gravity based on the flow of the battle, and can make them lighter or heavier. It elastically extends both of its arms and burdens the opponent with its "High Gravity Pressure", compressing the opponent to their limit. Its "Gravity Bang", which is called a mythical bold move, places the Digital World's gravity pressure upon Gravimon itself until it reaches its limit, then detonates the entirety of its energy all at once. Although it has enough destructive power to partially destroy a star, it is a forbidden self-destruction technique that might obliterate itself. Although it can regenerate if it waits for many long years, even Gravimon doesn't know how long it will suffer for until it regenerates.

Digimon Adventure:[edit]

Gravimon was one of the Digimon that looked at how El Doradimon was trying to climb back up to Cloud Continent in "A Place to Return To". He refused to help Takaishi Takeru push El Doradimon, even after Leomon asked him due to his ability to control gravity, and after several other Digimon joined with Takeru, he grabbed him with his powers and asked him why he wouldn't give up. After Takeru explained that he wanted El Doradimon to go back home, Gravimon asked what would happen to those that had no homes to return to, such as himself and the other Digimon whose homes were destroyed by Millenniumon. Takeru pointed out that he had a time he wanted to go back to, and he knew that it would not happen, so at least he wanted El Doradimon to go back home since it could. Afterwards, Gravimon let go of Takeru in mid-air, where Angemon caught him.

After El Doradimon fell once again after reaching Cloud Continent, and Takeru, who was riding on top of it, fell as well, Gravimon, having released himself from his straightjacket-like state, caught both with his gravity, then chastized Takeru for giving up, snapping Takeru out of that state. He then let Takeru and Holy Angemon use his powers, pushing El Doradimon upwards, and thanks to Takeru's hope giving it wings, allowing El Doradimon to finally go back home.

A Red Vegimon, a Zassoumon, a Scumon, an Elecmon, two Elecmon (Violet), two Karatuki Numemon, a Penmon, a Tocanmon, a Kokuwamon, a Betamon, a Sepikmon, a Dokunemon, a Kamemon, a Gizamon, a Shamamon, a Goburimon, a Floramon, a Ganimon, a Delumon, a Pipismon, a Gokimon, an Insekimon, a Bombmon, a yellow Pickmon, a Tuchidarumon, a Starmon, a Sunflowmon, an Unimon, a Swanmon, a Revolmon and Gravimon, reacted to the attack of a group of Soundbirdmon in "The Angels' Determination".
