After destroying Apocalymon shard as Shiho and the others are ready to go back to the present, Samuel Nakaoka was stabbed by Kumon Kai who regenerated his body. However, Beerus sense that Kumon's energy is entirely different and revealed that Kumon was possessed by Utsuki's lingering malignant spirit and also revealing that he is already dead. Seeing in horror by brutally beating up Samuel Nakaoka for past interventions, an enraged Beerus tries to destroy his corpse by using Rush Destruction, but Utsuki's lingering malignant spirit lives on as she mutates herself by using Kumon's remains and the planet's absorbed energy into a newly reborn Utsuki.
