fan book[edit]
Illustration for the "SYa34" Sunburst Fan Book by As'maria. ...its literally a *fan book*. so you know, fan art?Muur (talk) 18:42, 12 November 2024 (CST)
- Besides having a few official illustrators involed in it, in this book there was a Digimon that first appeared and later on was make it canon, Kuzuhamon: Miko Mode, plus there is Gaioumon X Burst Mode, which despite not being an official Digimon, was potentially the original base to later on create Gaioumon Itto Mode and even MetalGreymon X Virus has a strong inspiration from it, so it is more than convenient and informative to, at least, have a mention of the book in the pages in which is relevant. We are not making a breakdown of the book or something like that anyways. Mind you some Digimon like Madomon and company own a single page in here despite being Digimon created exclusively for fans, so not everything falls under the same exact category, there are some nuances that should be taken into consideration. --Shadow Shinji (talk) 18:50, 12 November 2024 (CST)
- its a fan book, where they somehow got him to agree to add to it. thats still fan art. regardless, tms said "So it should be on As'maria's page, but not Sayo's.". artists can make fan art - when its art they make for fun and wasnt commissioned by bandai etc. as for the stuff about gaiomon thats just jumping to conclusions. for miko mode, if its the *same exact art*, then its just bandai allowing a fan art to become real. the thing about the memorial story digimon, they were from a contest to make official digimon such as holydigitamamon, so theyre not fan art they were drawn by bandai and bandai said in the terms and conditions that bandai own the rights to the character. so yes, thats fan art and shouldnt be on an actual character page (seems its been allowed on the artist page)Muur (talk) 18:55, 12 November 2024 (CST)
- All I am saying is that it's not the same scenario that an official artist from the franchise decides to randomly draw something they like, in that case I understand that the other Sayo's artworks went directly into the artists page or the art from sasasi beause both cases fall under the first category, compared to a few official artists (and others) to gather up and create a fan book, that eventually led to have certain influence in an official material. It would be like saying that Kakudou's or Konaka's notes from their personal blogs are not valuable or shouldn't be quoted here just because their blogs are not supported by official pages. --Shadow Shinji (talk) 19:09, 12 November 2024 (CST)
- something like konaka saying "i did this in the episode because this" is actual development notes on why things happened. if as'maria posts an actual thing and says "this is the first draft of gaiomon" then yeah, thats fine, as its concept art, but if it just posts a random pic of gaiomno for fun, then its fan art made without bandai being involved. fan art (even by people who work at bandai) shouldnt be on pages, but if its allowed on the artist page then whatever. but that specific image of sayo is her in an outfit she has never even wore in canonical bandai material. that "gaiomon x burst mode", its jumping to conclusions to decide it has effected anything. if as'maria said it did, then cool, but otherwise its just something he drew for fun. wikis only want official stuff so that fans know what art is offical and what art isnt (eg, poeple may think that art of sayos outfit in the as'maria art is canon, but its not, and thus is misleading people into thinking its a real outfit she has worn)Muur (talk) 19:15, 12 November 2024 (CST)
