Talk:Ogudomon

From Wikimon

Offset[edit]

I did a rough translation, so some of the grammar might be incorrect - specifically, that "the power of a Digimon with even a small amount of malice is offset, making it impossible for it to defeat Ogudomon."

As its name is derived from an octad of deities whose main feature is to be perfectly counterbalanced, it might instead be something like "It is a slightly malicious Digimon whose power is counterbalanced, making it impossible to be defeated."

Could someone more advanced in Japanese please check this? I'm only in my second year of Japanese (not counting high school).KrytenKoro06 22:00, 11 August 2008 (UTC)

Etymology[edit]

Why is Ogdomon presumed to be Egyptian? With the Demon Lord motif and the Latin attacks, doesn't the Gnostic ogdoad make more sense? In this conception, the SGDL themselves would correspond roughly to the seven Archons and their seven planets; Saturn, Jupiter, Mars, Venus, the Sun, Mercury, and the Moon, same as the SGDL. Ogdomon then is associated with the eight sphere and seat of the fallen aeon, the Ogdoad. ShiningCelebi (talk) 05:57, 4 December 2016 (CST)
