Talk:Big Death-Stars
From Wikimon
I will try to write up a draft sometime soon, but this should describe the makeup of the grand army based on the profiles.KrytenKoro06 21:33, 29 August 2011 (CDT)
- Just want to say, you guys can totally take the Digimon Wiki version if you want.KrytenKoro06 23:46, 30 September 2011 (CDT)
Merge[edit]
and now Apollomon Whispered is a member in the DRB. should we consider Death Generals to just be an anime only name of this group?Muur (talk) 21:56, 12 March 2026 (CDT)
- or its just a sub of General and was never actually a group name.Muur (talk) 23:18, 12 March 2026 (CDT)
- Subgroup of the Generals, IMHO. Herb (talk) 13:01, 13 March 2026 (CDT)
- Considering the Big Death-Stars and the Death Generals are now completely identical, I'd say that the Death Generals are the anime equivalent of that more than a subset of Generals (which they also are, of course). I'd say the best way to proceed is to merge the Big Death-Stars and Death Generals page, explaining that the latter name was used in the Xros Wars anime. --Blaze Dragon (talk) 15:21, 13 March 2026 (CDT)
- Is everyone forgetting that regular Apollomon is a Death General, but not a Big Death-Star? That isn't exactly identical. Just worth considering for this discussion. KiraraKidohara (talk) 02:59, 14 March 2026 (CDT)
- Apollomon is considered a Death General, he just isn't the "True" Death General. He still holds the seat while Whispered is in repose. The Death Generals are also not just Generals -- they are specifically Generals that are equipped with Darkness Loaders and control the seven Lands. They are clearly linked a role taken by big death stars digimon (I believe the cards outright give them Bagra and BDS traits simultaneously), but that's not the first time we've seen stuff like that. So - they're both BDS and DG, and DG is more than just Generals. On a practical side -- the death generals are specifically xros wars characters, while the bds are a series-wide concept now. So I don't think a merge would make sense, unless it was similar to how we say Chronicle Omegamon is an RK while Adventure Omegamon probably isn't. So, it would still need to be clearly delineating the null concept from the specific iteration.KrytenKoro06 (talk) 09:32, 14 March 2026 (CDT)#
- For what it's worth, I honestly wouldn't be opposed to handling the BDS like the RK and SGDL, with the Death Generals being specifically the Xros Wars iteration of the group even we decide against merging the pages outright Chimera-gui (talk) 17:03, 14 March 2026 (CDT)

- I feel like it was pretty clear bagramon didnt really consider regular apollomon a member, knowing he was faking it and planning to kill them from the inside etc. which is why whispered exists. so he wasnt really an actual member. apollomon just thought he was.Muur (talk) 09:59, 14 March 2026 (CDT)
- The more I think about it, the more it would make more sense for the two pages to be merged. Now with Apollomon Whispered profile, it's more clear than ever that they wanted to portray the group in a similar way to what Adventure did with the Dark Masters, with the only difference they used the same naming in the latter. On another hand, we also have cases like the Ultimate 4 in Appmon, that doesn't seem to be part of any deep lore, but more the designation of a specific group that work together, kinda like the Death Generals. It is also true that, in the anime adaptation, Apollomon is the full member of the group compared to Whispered in the lore version, but at the same time, it's no different to other similar examples, like Mervamon taking the spot of Minervamon in Crusader, or Lucemon child being shown as a member of the SGDL in Xros Wars manga. I think I would go with whatever the majority decide; that said, I believe in the main Group article they should still remain separate, or at least the Death General being mentioned somewhere in the Big Death-Stars entry.--Shadow Shinji (talk) 14:17, 14 March 2026 (CDT)
- I don't think Dark Masters is truly comparable -- for one, the DL and DRB profiles made a point of giving the group a separate name when they very easily could have simply called the group the Death Generals. The armies as described also don't match what we see in the show -- for example, the anime Moonlight Army contains no Undead Digimon, the Wood Spirit Army contains only one type of Plant Digimon, with no Fairy Digimon, and the Earth Spirit Army contains no God Beast Digimon. Beyond that, how the armies behave also don't quite fit. The Death Generals are certainly made up of Digimon who are Big Death-Stars, but the defining group traits (which for the BDS are the armies) are treated about as closely as Xros Wars did for other group traits (like Olympos XII, Ten Warriors, etc.). And, again, the anime defines the role of being a Death General in a distinct manner.KrytenKoro06 (talk) 15:25, 23 March 2026 (CDT)
