Death Tyranomon is the partner of Jousaki Shinichirou as one of the forms of his Deathmon, having gained it from the data loaded from a Tyranomon off-screen.

After Kamon Kentarou's Bun dodged Death Devimon's Death Knuckle, Shinichirou had Deathmon become Death Tyranomon to attack it with Death Beam, which also missed, though the children realized that Deathmon was just fooling around. Shinichirou then offered to show them the ultimate monster, and Death Tyranomon turned into Death Metal Greymon.
