Category talk:Mutation Type

From Wikimon

Uh, why have most of the Mutant type Digimon been reclassified as Mutation? The Digimon reclassified as Mutation are "突然変異型" and the ones left as Mutant are also "突然変異型". There's no difference, so why have they been separated?

mutant is ミュータント型.Muur (talk) 13:37, 17 November 2022 (CST)
Except, regular Scumon/Sukamon is the only one of the Digimon left under the original Mutant that actually has the ミュータント型 type (at least in the Reference Book). AztecCroc (talk) 16:37, 17 November 2022 (CST)
not like its the only type with only one digimon. ancient insect, for example. the types shouldnt have been merged in teh first place, and the new card game shows it is an issue to merge types. the first was uknown where wikimon and digimon wiki had keramon and meicoomon's types merged only for the card game to say no that's no how this works. people were confused as to what cards BT5-090 (DCG) targets. some thinking you could use it on meicoomon, but you cant. they are different types, and as such are now represented here as different types.Muur (talk) 16:46, 17 November 2022 (CST)
I suppose Mutation could be used to distinguish between Digimon that use the katakana spelling and those that use the kanji spelling. One question, though: why was the reading changed to Totsuzenhen'i-gata? At least as far as I'm aware, all media uses Myūtanto-gata rather than the proper kanji reading.--Yamato-san (talk) 21:14, 10 January 2023 (CST)
