This card was formerly restricted to 1 copy due to the 2022 August 19 banlist, taking effect on 2022 September 1 (around the tail end of the EX-03 format). The stated reasoning was:

This card on its own can trash a large number of the opponent's evolution bases for a comparatively low cost, and in combination with its inherited effect preventing Digimon with no evolution bases from attacking or blocking, it can easily lock down the opponent's Digimon. Rather than being interesting, we have determined that this card causes great stress in the current game environment, so we have decided to restrict this card to 1 copy.[1]

The restriction was later removed by the 2023 October 17 banlist, taking effect on 2023 October 27 (around the start of the BT-15 format). The stated reasoning was:

In past environments where this card was deployed, due to this card's When Played effect, [Hybrid]-based decks that don't require many inherited effects and can immediately attack were much more efficient compared to standard-evolution-based decks that require the inherited effects of multiple cards. Furthermore, out of the [Hybrid] decks, Blue Hybrid decks using this card's effect to suppress attacking and blocking were particularly powerful, placing a large strain on other decks. However, in the current environment, cards that can counter evolution base trashing and attack or block prevention are becoming more common, so we have decided to unrestrict this card.[2]
