User talk:Koroku/Chatroom
Brian Stevenson <[email protected]> Thu, Feb 24, 2011 at 9:15 PM To: [email protected] Hi there :)
I am contacting you on behalf of the ParadoxIRC IRC (Internet relay chat) Chat network. I am a Digimon fan myself, and upon searching for Digimon sites I came across Wikimon.net I noticed that you do not have a webchat on your website. Webchats are a great realtime way for communities to have discussions and get to know each other, they can really help online communities flourish. I would like to offer Wikmon.net a chat page for you website so users can chat away.
Our chat also network has a lot of features that could benefit your site, we have a stable and active user base, many are anime fans so they would be interested in having a Digimon chatroom to talk in. And there are also some chatroom games we have that your users could use. You can view more information about our chat network by visiting our website, http://paradoxirc.net and checking the about us page.
To use a chat page from us alls you would need to do is add a page to your site, then a tiny bit of html (which we provide) to your page, and we do the rest from our end. If you have anymore question please feel free to contact us at [email protected] or you can contact me directly at [email protected]
We thank you for your time and hope to hear back from you soon :)

Greg M <[email protected]> Fri, Feb 25, 2011 at 9:44 AM To: Brian Stevenson <[email protected]> Hi,
Thanks, but we've had an IRC channel AND a webchat at different times in the past, and it has never really worked well. It is more trouble to try and maintain than it is worth.
Thanks, Greg
Brian Stevenson <[email protected]> Fri, Feb 25, 2011 at 2:28 PM To: Greg M <[email protected]> Ok mate, that's no problem, as I said though if you reconsider we will be happy to host it, we pretty much do everything from our end, all you need is a bit of html, thanks for replying anyway :)
PS keep up the good work with the site, it's great, I use it a lot! :P

Greg M <[email protected]> Fri, Feb 25, 2011 at 8:52 PM To: Brian Stevenson <[email protected]> Yeah, but there is still the administering that's the killer. The main issue is keeping trolls out (we have more than enough in the Digimon fandom, as you're probably familiar with! haha) and with Wikimon having more than a few enemies out there... it can become troublesome. I'd rather not put the chance of a poor 13 year old innocent kid with one of WtW's trolls.

Brian Stevenson <[email protected]> Sat, Feb 26, 2011 at 6:35 AM To: Greg M <[email protected]> I see what you mean, although just so you know we do have staff online 24/7 (1 AUS, 1 ENG, 1 CA, 1 East US, 2 Central US, 1 West US) that if you want can moderate for you, oddly the other two staff are that are digimon fans are located worldwide, so we have one in england(me) one in australia and one in central america, and we are all pretty sad, online 24/7 haha. We also have a Zelda chatroom that has the same issue, trolls, but we do a pretty good job at keeping them away, as a lot of the zelda users are under 15 we try and keep it as pleasent for them as possible, we also offer channel censoring so offensive words can not be viewed in the channel. Our incredifriends chantroom is the same too, a really young user base so we work as hard as possible to keep it pleasent for them. Anyway thanks for your time, if you do reconsider in the future I would be more than happy to help with all aspects of the chatroom, I oddly enough enjoy peace keeping lol, thanks for you time :)
