This game has the past versions of Samuel Nakaoka the Second and Maki Himekawa which they are main playables depending on genders that the player played. Some of them are Samuel Nakaoka's friends' past, present or alternate timeline version which they're not playables in this game, but it will helpful to Samuel Nakaoka and Maki.
