Talk:Turuiemon
From Wikimon
Perhaps a better translation would be Turyemon (based on the Chinese)? MK 08:29, 2 September 2009 (UTC)
- Or perhaps Turuyemon, as the Japanese name is RU-I-E, not RI-e. MK
- Years late to the discussion, obviously, but for the record: If I had it my way, this guy's name would be Tu'eryemon or Tuer Yemon ("Tù'éryé" is the proper Pinyin spelling for the Chinese word the Japanese/Romaji is trying to portray, and some romanizations add a space so that the pronunciation is less ambiguous). But ultimately, I think it's more important that it remain in line with the official romanization for now. Technically correct or not, there's no use in being arbitrary. -- turninto
