The kanji on AncientWisemon's brooches is 孔明.
This can be a reference to Zhuge Liang (see the page and you'll see how it fits). The literal meaning itself would also be slit-bright/light, which could be a reference to the Double-slit experiment, an important experiment in quantum mechanics which showcases the wave-particle duality of light.

In this case, such a person is referred to as phu wiset meaning “a person with extraordinary powers.”
