This card is part of a banned pair as of the 2025 August 23 banlist, taking effect on 2025 September 1 (around the tail end of the BT-22 format). A: [BT20-037 Chaosmon: Valdur Arm] B: [BT17-035 Taomon], [EX8-037 Sakuyamon X-Antibody] The stated reasoning was: In [Sakuyamon] decks, it has become possible to cheaply evolve into a level 7 and produce a powerful state of total dominance of the boardstate. Specifically, using [BT17-035 Taomon]'s inherited effect and [EX8-037 Sakuyamon X-Antibody]'s Your Turn effect, it is possible to evolve into [BT20-037 Chaosmon: Valdur Arm] while attacking, disabling the opponent's counterplay while massively reducing their security, and we have determined that there are very few decks in the current environment that can adequately handle this play. For the above reasons, we have decided to ban [BT20-037 Chaosmon: Valdur Arm] from being included in the same deck as [BT17-035 Taomon] or [EX8-037 Sakuyamon X-Antibody]. References:
