Digimon New Century[edit]

As a child, he once saved the World.[1] When he, Sakamoto Tetsuya‎‎, and Kamiya Shingo were young their partners, alongside Sakuyamon and Holy Angemon, fought Titamon, Venom Vamdemon, Piemon, and Apocalymon. Though they defeated Titamon, Venom Vamdemon, and Piemon — Apocalymon managed to flee.

By the time he had a son, Kaoru, he was rich and had founded Hyuuga Technology with Hiroyuki's family having been affluent since Kaoru was young. Hiroyuki is strong and strict with discipline which causes Kaoru to be rebellious. Hiroyuki banned D-Zeros, though this just caused Kaoru to become very fond of Digimon.[1]

At some point, he became partners with Fantomon with the two secretly joining forces.

Hyuuga Technology performed illegal experiments, which caused DTF to send the captain and the Player's team to investigate. During the investigation, it was discovered that Hiroyuki and his current partner Fantomon were preparing to open a channel to an unknown domain. Under the guidance of Yggdrasill's will, the captain dissuaded Hiroyuki's plan, but unexpectedly learned his true thoughts. When Hiroyuki was opening the gate of the channel, Kaoru followed the team to stop him. He brought his father’s D-Seed in front him, trying to use family love to soften him. Finally, Hiroyuki revealed his real plan. Before being taken to the DTF headquarters, Hiroyuki gave his D-Seed to Kaoru and stated that Kaoru had the right to use it freely. Under the influence of his father, Kaoru embarked on the path of independent growth.[1]

After being defeated, he renounces his evil ways.

One day; a Millenniumon sends Hiroyuki, Hyuuga Kaoru, the Player, Agumon, Tinkermon, a few other DTF members, and a nearby Gottsumon to the past with its Time Unlimited attack. The group arrive at the aforementioned battle, with their presence causing the results of the battle to change. Instead of losing, the villains win and capture the previous heroes — including the child version of Hiroyuki. The sent group were all lacking their partners, meaning none of the sent Digimon could evolve. Gabumon manages to avoid escape though, and ends up sensing that the adult Hiroyuki was an older version of his partner. The joy of seeing Hiroyuki grow up into an adult, and Hiroyuki's joy at seeing his partner one last time, causes Gabumon to warp evolve to Gabumon -Yujo no Kizuna- — who then proceeds to defeat Apocalymon. DTF are able to find the location of their allies, and send a portal to the past to return them to the future. Gabumon and Hiroyuki say their goodbyes, with Gabumon promising it would save the child version of Hiroyuki and their friends from Apocalymon's minions. It presumably was able to do so, since they were all still alive in the future.
