A Partner Digimon (パートナーデジモン Pātonā Dejimon) is a digital monster who has allied themselves with a human to form a partnership, usually a Chosen Child, Tamer, or Guard Tamer.

A Digimon generally gains the ability to evolve much more quickly than would be natural when with a human partner. In Digimon Tamers, this was a primary reason that Digimon sought out humans with whom to partner, as evidenced by the large number who initially sought the partnership of Makino Ruki, perceived as a strong potential tamer.

The human partner and Digimon are usually connected through a digivice, which in many cases helps channel the partner's energy to help the Digimon evolve. This is not always the case, as Guard Tamers do not carry a digivice. It is also possible for a human to have more than one Digimon partner and vice-versa (as is the case with Impmon in Digimon Tamers and Wallace in Digimon Adventure 02 Digimon Hurricane Touchdown!! Supreme Evolution!! The Golden Digimentals).
