Wikimon:Old Admin Announcements
From Wikimon
Sorry about that, totally forgot to renew the domain this year! It's been kinda a crazy week/month/year... yeah. :P
Well, domain has been renewed now, so Wikimon should be able to thrive at wikimon.net for another year, no problem :)

Recently, the server has been totally overtaxed. pawitp has changed the cache system, and also upgraded Wikimon. If you find any bugs, please e-mail me at jkaizer@gmail.com
In regards to the license, something will be announced later this week. - Koroku 15:13, 15 January 2009 (UTC)
EDIT: We know of the 500 errors. And we think that they have been fixed. --Koroku 15:24, 18 January 2009 (UTC)
An interesting tidbit has come up... we kinda realized that Wikimon doesn't follow any license. Head over to the Community Portal to discuss what license we should go under.
This is a pretty important decision, and we hope that a good portion of the Wikimon community will help make this decision.
Reminder
please provide a source for what Digimon evolves from/into what, whether it be from cards, video games, V-pets, etc - especially from games. To do this, place "<ref name=source>''[[source]]''</ref>" next to the specific Digimon. Users who fail to comply with this will have their edit(s) reverted unless a sufficient source to back up evidence is added. Persistent violation will lead to warnings.

Thanks for the support guys! The server should be going down at some point tonight to have a new harddrive and 1GB of memory added. ^_^
We appreciate the donations, and hope that you guys will be able to use Wikimon for ages to come~

We have recently been having... large problems with Wikimon using up too much of the server's resources. At times, it has caused the server load to spike to over 30... which is NOT a good thing. Unless we are able to raise the needed funds for an upgraded server, it is quite likely that we will have to convert Wikimon to a different form of Wiki other than MediaWiki. As I'm sure most of you know, MediaWiki is a very known format, and if we want to continue using it, we need help upgrading the server.
In a similar note, the domain name was renewed today for another year. I've been dishing out a lot of money for this site, and I know it's visited quite often, so if you can, I would appreciate if people could spare a dollar or two or five. If we can raise enough (about $100) then we will be able to double the RAM in the server, and that would be VERY helpful.

Thanks! --Koroku 02:19, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
EDIT: I've added a donation bar thing over to the right. Please consider helping out if you enjoy/use Wikimon :)
We have been having issues with providing accurate pieces of info, this refers to Digimon evolutions in particular. From now on, please provide a source for what Digimon evolves from/into what, whether it be from cards, video games, V-pets, etc - especially from games. To do this, place "<ref name=source>''[[source]]''</ref>" next to the specific Digimon. Users who fail to comply with this will have their edit(s) reverted unless a sufficient source to back up evidence is added. Persistent violation will lead to warnings.
for an example, see Terriermon

So we've upgraded to the newest version of MediaWiki and after a bit of a muck-up, everything seems to be working okay.
Enjoy the (new?) features and whatnot. ttyl~ --Koroku 21:58, 29 December 2007 (CST)
EDIT: So it seems that a few things got messed up. Mainly template type of stuff... like here on the Main Page. They'll be fixed soon though :D --Koroku 15:35, 30 December 2007 (CST)
Well, here we have it. The move was completed last night with little to no trouble... and DNS is in the works. Pretty sure that everything should be working, but I can't be 100% sure since my DNS for dats.us hasn't gone though. But yet here I am looking at wikimon.net. Figure that out. D:!
Everything is using wikimon.net domain, and the page names are a bit prettier. No more index.php needed - we just have /Main_Page/! :D woot woot for that. If there's anything broken, I encourage you to use the Community Portal to let me know ^o^ --Koroku 09:06, 21 December 2007 (CST)
The entire DATS network is moving to a new dedicated server, and Wikimon is high on the list to be moved. So sometime this week, Wikimon will go down for a few hours, and appear back up on the other server.
From now on, we will be using wikimon.net as the main URL, and will redirect wiki.dats.us to it, instead of the other way around. --Koroku 03:31, 5 December 2007 (EST)
After a lot of spam lately, we've had to change Wikimon to only allow Registered Users to edit. In order for us to do this, we've had to mess with MediaWiki's REALLY, REALLY ugly permissions system, so if we screwed something up, please e-mail me at jkaizer at gmail dot com! :)
Would also like to congratulate Ainz and Daisuke Motomiya for both becoming SysOps, and Ainz has also become a Bureaucrat! Congrats :) --Koroku 01:25, 15 November 2007 (EST)
wikimon.net should be working now, it's just a redirect though. :/ Oh well. At least it works! Will upgrade to the newest branch of MediaWiki soon. Also, the logo is finally up! Yay! --Koroku 01:50, 26 September 2007 (EDT)
Just so you know, we do have the domain, but it's acting up right now and I'm having a hard time getting it to work. Something's up with the nameservers or whatever.... >_> --Koroku 02:35, 24 July 2007 (EDT)
We have a domain!!!! Yep! I've purchased wikimon.net, and sometime this week I'll work on shifting the site to that. The old wiki.dats.us URL will continue to work, so you won't have to worry about losing the site anywhere. :) --Koroku 01:24, 15 July 2007 (EDT)
When uploading Images to Wikimon, PLEASE follow the Rules. Also, check the List of Images, because there are many copies being uploaded of already-existing images. If you have any questions regarding this, please comment in the current discussion in the Community Portal --Koroku & Devkyu 17:45, 13 July 2007 (EDT)
Look at those card pages coming together! Everyone, clap your hands for their hard work! You may have noticed a few minor changes here and there across the Wiki lately, we're working on integrating it deeper into the DATS family. :) I also went ahead and fixed the IRC chat link ^^ --Koroku 12:47, 30 June 2007 (EDT)
We're still moving along pretty well. We're in dire of need of someone making up episode pages for all five seasons. If you're interested, go ahead and start making them. Ask in the Community Portal if you have any questions about how they should be made! --Koroku 14:50, 20 June 2007 (EDT)
So everything, for the most part, is running along smoothly. We're still in need of a lot of pages, so run over to Special:Wantedpages to see what we need and see if you can help get some of those pages made up. :) --Koroku 02:54, 18 June 2007 (EDT)
