Chosen Child

A Chosen Child (選ばれし子供 Erabareshi Kodomo) (Dub: DigiDestined) are humans (although they do not necessarily have to actually be young, as there have been exceptions) who have obtained a Partner Digimon. In general, a Chosen Child aides their Digimon by use of various Digivices and other items to help them evolve. They are "chosen" by the Digital World or by some other source and are usually called for help.

Original Chosen Children
Never seen, nor revealed in great length, but it was revealed in Digimon Adventure that another group of children were chosen, even before the group in that series had ever been called upon. They were in fact the first to defeat and seal away Apocalymon.
