The Digimental of Courage (勇気のデジメンタル Yūki no Dejimentaru; Dub: Digi-Egg of Courage), also known as the Digimental of Flame (炎のデジメンタル Honō no Dejimentaru), is a Digimental that is used to induce Armor Evolution.

Overview

Design

Like other Armor Evolution Digimentals, the Digimental of Courage is a bulky, loosely egg-shaped object. Its shell has a similar shape and a near-identical flame pattern to the armor worn by two Digimon who are created by using it, Fladramon and Shadramon; it is also tipped with a horn identical to Fladramon's. Its corresponding Crest, the Crest of Courage, is inscribed on its surface.

The Digimental of Courage contains the elemental attribute of Flame 「炎」, and it is this elemental power from which Digimon who use this Digimental to Armor Evolve draw their power. Armor Digimon who have used the Digimental of Courage are granted fire-based abilities, and their skill at hand-to-hand combat is heightened like blazing flames, allowing them to attack their foes with intense power.

Like other Digimentals, the Digimental of Courage was created in ancient times using now-lost technology. It was based on data left behind by a highly courageous Digimon upon its death.

The Digimental of Courage in its resting place.

The Digimental of Courage is one of the first five Digimentals that the Four Holy Beasts chose to provide to a new group of Chosen Children in order to stop the Digimon Kaiser. They had it placed in a cave in the Digital World, sealing away both V-mon, asleep, and three D-3s, to be unsealed and awoken once the intended Chosen Child arrived.

Yagami Taichi, Agumon, Patamon and Tailmon discover the cave and the Digimental of Courage while fleeing the Digimon Kaiser's slaves. Having noticed the Crest of Courage inscribed on it, he attempts to take it, but is not only totally unable to make it budge, but his touch inadvertently releases the D-3s and sends them to the Real World.

Later, once Yagami Hikari, Takaishi Takeru, and Motomiya Daisuke arrive, Taichi and the Digimon bring them to the Digimental. None of the other Chosen Children are able to budge it from the ground at all, but Daisuke, as its intended owner, successfully takes it and releases V-mon. When an Evil Ring Monochromon attacks, following V-mon's instructions, Daisuke activates it to Armor Evolve V-mon into Fladramon, becoming the first to circumvent the Digimon Kaiser's block on natural evolution using Armor Evolution. Once V-mon devolves after freeing the Monochromon, the Digimental of Courage automatically transmits itself from Daisuke's D-3 to his D-Terminal, where it remains stored when not in use.

Motomiya Daisuke uses the Digimental of Courage to Armor Evolve V-mon into Fladramon in both Chocomon's attack on the rural road, and in the final encounter at Summer Memory.

In the drama CD's omake, Yagami Taichi attempts to use the Digimental of Courage, but it fails and has no effect other than hurting Agumon's tooth.

Motomiya Daisuke uses the Digimental of Courage as his opening gambit in the final fight with Parallelmon. He Armor Evolve V-mon into Fladramon and baits Parallelmon into reaching for him, then V-mon sheds the Digimental's armor to leave Parallemon open to being attacked by Zeromaru.

Digimon Adventure 02: Tag Tamers

The Digimental of Courage is an obtainable item of the Armor category. Equipping it on a Digimon has three possible effects:

• If equipped by a V-mon (including the temporary partner V-mon), it teaches V-mon the Fire Rocket Armor Evolution technique the next time that a battle is won. After this point, as long as the Digimental is equipped, V-mon can use Fire Rocket to briefly Armor Evolve into Fladramon, who performs the technique before immediately reverting back into V-mon.
• It increases the equipper's resistance to Fire techniques.
• Like any other Digimental, having it equipped on Digimon will, depending on their Digitama line, cause them to evolve into a different Adult, Perfect or Ultimate Digimon than they would have without a Digimental equipped.

The Digimental of Courage is the only Digimental that the player can receive in an already complete state: it can be found in a chest in the Sea Cave 2 dungeon on Akiyama Ryo's side. Courage Fragments can also be found in the Detached Cave and Machine Base dungeons, both on Ichijouji Ken's side, and rebuilt into more Digimentals of Courage at Centalmon's Digimental Shop. Alternatively, the player may receive it by trading with compatible video and LCD games.

Digimon Adventure 02: D-1 Tamers

The Digimental of Courage is an obtainable item of the Digimental category. Equipping it on a Digimon has two possible effects:

• If equipped by a V-mon (including the temporary partner V-mon), it grants access to the Fire Rocket Armor Evolution technique in V-mon's sixth technique slot. When used, V-mon briefly Armor Evolves into Fladramon, who performs Fire Rocket before immediately reverting back into V-mon.
• Like any other Digimental, having it equipped on Digimon will, depending on their Digitama line, cause them to evolve into a different Adult, Perfect or Ultimate Digimon than they would have without a Digimental equipped.

The Digimental of Courage can be purchased from Centalmon's Digimental Shop at any point in the game, or received by trading with compatible video and LCD games.

Digimon World: Digital Card Arena

The Digimental of Courage is an unlockable which is separately acquired for three Partner Cards. Once it has been acquired, the player is given the option to, when playing any of these Partner Cards, use the Digimental to Armor Evolve them free of charge:

The Digimental of Courage is a key item. Having it is one of the evolution requirements to perform the following evolutions:

• XV-mon → Fladramon
  Other evolution requirements: Level is 30 or higher

It is not consumed in the evolution, so Fladramon can be evolved into any number of times.

It can be redeemed from Mr. Gure as a reward for accruing 6400 Tamer Points.

Digimon Story: Sunburst & Moonlight

The Digimental of Courage is a key item. Having it is one of the evolution requirements to perform the following Armor Evolutions in in the Special Evolution menu of the DigiLab:

• V-mon → Fladramon
  Other evolution requirements: Level is 22 or higher; Dragon EXP is 2500 or higher
• Hawkmon → Allomon
  Other evolution requirements: Level is 21 or higher; Attack is 110 or higher
• Tailmon → Lynxmon
  Other evolution requirements: Level is 29 or higher; Speed is 130 or higher
• Wormmon → Shadramon
  Other evolution requirements: Level is 30 or higher; Dark EXP is 6000 or higher

It is not consumed in the evolution, so these Digimon can be evolved into any number of times.

Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth & Hacker's Memory

The Digimental of Courage is a key item in both games. Having it is one of the evolution requirements to perform the following evolutions:

• V-mon → Fladramon
  Other evolution requirements: Level is 14 or higher; Attack is 40 or higher; Speed is 40 or higher; Camaraderie is 25% or higher

It is not consumed in the evolution, so Fladramon can be evolved into any number of times.

In Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth, the Digimental of Courage is dropped by the Aggressive Hacker's Fladramon after defeating it in Kowloon Level 4 during Chapter 7. In Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth Hacker's Memory, the Digimental of Courage is dropped by the Passionate Hacker's Fladramon after defeating it in the final round of the Gold Cup, from Chapter 6 onward.

The Digimental of Courage is a collectible item that the player uses in battle to Armor Evolve their Digimon. All six playable Digimon are capable of using it:

• V-mon → Fladramon
• Wormmon → Shadramon
• Hawkmon → Allomon
• Tailmon → Lynxmon
• Armadimon → Boarmon
• Patamon → Baromon

To obtain the Digimental of Courage, the player must first collect three fragments of it via the Search function. Its fragments are available in the following Areas:

• D-3 Version 1: Area 3
• D-3 Version 2: Areas 1 and 3
• D-3 Version 3: Areas 1 and 2

Alternatively, the player may receive it via trade with compatible games and devices.

D-Terminal

Digimentals of Courage may be created through the fusion of the following combinations of either Digimon from the Reference Book, or other Digimentals:

• Digimon: Metal Greymon + Paildramon
• Digimon: War Greymon + Imperialdramon
• Digimentals: Digimental of Friendship + Digimental of Knowledge + Digimental of Hope

Digimentals of Courage may be traded with compatible games and devices.

D-3 Digivice (International)

The Digi-Egg (Digimental) of Courage is a collectible item that is used in battle to Armor Digivolve (Armor Evolve) Veemon (V-mon) into Flamedramon (Fladramon). Unlike the Japanese D-3 line, none of the other playable Digimon may use it.

Using the Digi-Egg of Courage does not incur a D-Power point cost and can be done without limitation, but if used, there is a small chance that it may break after a battle, regardless of its outcome, requiring it to be re-obtained.

It is obtained by random chance in "Get Digi-Eggs" map events.
